We continue to fight, harder than before. I gaze upon the battle field, at my dear friend. I remember how we would play and exchange secrets. I hold my weapon high and charge. We all fight hard, Candor and Erudite against Amity and Dauntless. I wonder, where is the Abnegation in this fight? Abnegation would help if they were here, against the Amity and Dauntless. Abnegation, being selfless would gladly lay down their lives in order to fight for what they thought was right. Someone would have to form an alliance with them, and that someone would be me.
Suddenly, a voice shouts my name... "Anna!" It was Kate. I felt her body colliding against mine as I hear a gun shot. Kate lay on top of me, motionless. The crimson and maroon liquid that belongs, well belonged, to my old friend against my body, bleeding out just as her faith in me had vanished almost completely. Why had she done it? Why did she save me? It turns out one of the members of Dauntless had opened fire on everyone. I question why, but it turns out they had been attacked. Kate had saved my life but I wasn't sure she had escaped with hers.
My voice shouts her name repeatedly. "Kate! Kate! Stay with me!" I shout. Nothing. No response. Then, I see her Dauntless friends take her to the infirmary.
Then...
