Chapter 17

*Jake POV*

 After what I heard Louis say, I couldn't believe it! I was getting pretty upset about what has been going on between him and Lacey. I mean I love Lacey! I have been friends with her for a while and my love always grew bigger for her. When I see her with Louis, I get all jealous. I have to beat them or Louis will end up getting Lacey.

 We started playing really good; so far we are beating them by two points.  They served to us and Ally had bumped it backwards and it went out. Tony had spiked it but they blocked it and it went back to us but the girls didn't get it! We are at a tie now! Ugh! I am so mad! I had to spike it so they could get out. Sierra dived for the ball; Lacey set me up and BAM! I spiked it! It hit the ground, I felt so good up until I realized I had spiked it out. I face palmed myself. Louis and his friends were cheering in victory. I was disappointed in myself. Now Lacey would get the kiss, and I had a feeling she would like it.

 *Louis POV*

 I was jumping up and down since we won. I can't believe that we won this; it was really surprising to me and the lads. We were totally not expecting this. I saw Lacey hug her teammates. The lads and I walked up to her team. We all stood there waiting for our prize. The girls came up one by one. We were supposed to get kisses on the cheek, but some of the girls went for the lips. I wanted to get the last kiss so I waited until the girls were done. It was Lacey's turn. She was getting closer to my cheek and right when her lips were about to touch my cheek, I quickly turned my head so my lips can meet hers. At first her eyes widen but she just gave me a peck on the lips. I was upset but it was as close as I can get.

 "You tried to trick me?" she asked in shock.

 "Yes I did and it worked." I said with a smile tugged on my face.

 "Well I was going to kiss you longer but with the stunt you pulled, I guess not..." she trailed off and went to grab her water.

 I knew she was joking. I saw Zayn wearing Jake's jacket. I looked at Jake who was sitting at the bench. You looked upset and when he looked up he shot me a death glare. I just smirked and walked away.

 I went to my locker to get my backpack and saw a couple of girls walked by. They were all giggling and smiling at me. One of the girls approached me and leaned against the locker.

 "You're Louis, the cute and funny one right?" she asked

 "Yes indeed I am" I replied.

 "So what's the deal with that freak, what's her name? Oh Jacey!" she scoffed.

 "Its Lacey" I corrected.

 "Whatever, anyways why do you hang out with her? I mean you're at school you can get away from her. Since you guys live together. I will share a fact with you, she is weird. Have you seen her eyes? EW! She is a freak!" she rambled on.

 "Lacey is not a freak!" I raised my voice a bit. "Her eyes are beautiful and that what I love about her! Now leave her alone, alright!" I was pissed.

 "Oh please tell me you're not falling for her" she mumbled.

 "Your right I'm not falling for her... because I already fell for her" I snapped. I walked away and left.

 I couldn't believe she would talk to Lacey like that. Who the heck does she think she is talking about my Lacey? I mean it doesn't seem like Lacey likes me but she does. It is obvious. She is just insecure about herself. She just needs some time to adjust to me; I won't give up on her.

 I knocked on Lacey's door; she didn't walk with us today. I hope she wasn't mad at me for what I had done. I waited for a minute and no one answered. The lads said they went to the store for some stuff and Cassidy and Johnny were out grocery shopping. No one was home. I decided I should walk to the park. I went down the elevator and down to the lobby. A couple of people greeted me as I walked by. I decided to walk where no would usually walk. I know odd of me but I wanted to be alone.

 I saw a little garden, I walked through. When I was ready to head back near the park, I heard footsteps near me. I turned back and saw a really scary looking Jake. He approached me while I stood frozen.

 "Listen, I am tired of you being near Lacey!" he yelled

 "Calm down, you can't just hog Lacey and expect no one to hang out with her except for you!" I snapped.

 "I can and I will" he said.

 "Well that's not what's going to happen as long as I'm here!" I knew that was a bad idea to say something like that. I just really wanted to protect Lacey and be her superman.

 "Well I guess I am going to have to rearrange that!"

 Then I was kicked right in between my legs. I fell to the ground and looked up. He punched my stomach and I was yelling in pain. I got punched in the face a couple of time and got kicked way more than five times. I was in so much pain. I got one more punch straight in the face. Everything became dark; the last thing I heard was some running towards me and screaming.

 "Louis!"
