Chapter 8

After you and Lara hugged you asked her,
"Lara why are your parents mad at you?"
"Ummmm because I might have snuck out last night..."

She said that right in front of your brothers, and they always say that Lara is a bad influence on me but you didn't see it. Grayson rolled his eyes and asked,
"Where did you go?"
"I went to the park with my boyfriend.."

You are confused because Lara never mentioned her having a boyfriend.

"Wait since when do you have a boyfriend?!"
"omg I didn't tell you! I'm dating one of the high schoolers his name is Drake!"

You was shocked to hear Lara say that she was dating a high schooler, because she's only 13.

Both of your brothers eyes opened up widely because of how shocked they were. Grayson then said to break the silence,
"Phoenix... uhhh can I see you in the other room please...?"
"I'm fine I'm talking with Lara.." you replied just to annoy him

His jaw then clenched and he got up and pulled you by the arm into the other room.
"Ow! Grayson that hurt!" You said rubbing your wrist
"Sorry but... What the crap! Why is Lara dating a highschool when you guys are still in middle school?!"
"Chill... Lara is probably dating someone who is smart.."

You and Grayson then left the room and you rolled your eyes causing Lara to laugh.  You and Lara then began to go upstairs to get her stuff set up. She looked like she was staying here for a whole week with all the stuff she brought. You helped her unpacked her bag and you found a vape. You rolled my eyes and asked,
"Why the heck do you have a vape?!"
"Woah chill mom..*laughs* I got it from my boyfriend.."
"Lara I don't think you should date him if he encourages you to vape... vaping can cause an addiction due to the nicotine in it."
"Ok chill.. I came here to get away from my parents.."
"Lara I'm just trying to keep you safe!"
"I don't need you too! Just sometimes you need to stop acting like my mom and act like my old best friend!"

You started to get angry because you didn't want her getting hurt.

"Lara either you stop dating that drake guy or else you will lose your best friend.."
"you know what I should've dropped you a while ago I don't need you in my life.."

Lara then leaves and you start to cry.

30 minutes later

You were still crying until you heard someone knock on your door.

"Go away!"
"You really think your older brother will leave you alone, do you even know me?" Ethan said laughing
"Please Ethan I don't want to talk.."
"Look Phoenix I know you are upset about Lara leaving but it's a part of life. If she left you because she cared more about her boyfriend forget her she doesn't deserve you. You did the right thing and she chose not to take your advise and its not your fault. And just remember you have me your amazing older brother who brought you some ice cream to help you."

You look up because you heard Ice Cream. Ethan was holding two spoons and a huge tub of ice cream. He looked at you and did a cringy smile that made you laugh. You guys lay down on your bed and turn on a movie. You look over at Ethan and say,

"Thank you Ethan you're a great brother and I'm glad to have you as a brother"
