It was quiet.

Like really quiet, so much that you could probably hear a pin drop. You know, you would think that after reading books, watching TV shows and movies I would have tried to avoid these situations.

But as yall can see that shit flew right out the fucking window as soon as she touched my face.This bitch let her crusty claws touch my flawless face. The nerve. 

I lay my hand on my slapped cheek with my eyes and mouth open in shock. I don't know why but I - I was just frozen.

As I stood still I heard the scrapping of chairs," Lin -Linny, Khylin...are you, you ok?" From the corner of my eye I can see its Myyah talking to me. You see the only reason she asked me that is because I, how do you say....blank out?

I snapped out of my daze when I felt someone's hand on my shoulder and another holding my arm tightly. Dammit!

I tug. "Elijah - tug- let me - tug - go!"

He shakes his head at me,"No! Remember last time, unlike before she will press charges "

I rolled my eyes at him. Such a worry wort.

I heard a scoff," I'm not scared of her! Let the bitch go". I cast my eyes over to Toni to only see her tying her hair up in a pony tail.

Before I continue I just want to say mama I'm sorry, I'm sorry that I didn't comply with your wishes and didn't stay out of trouble. I'm also sorry for the people that birth the hoe that's in front of me.

At the corner of both my eyes I can see that everyone has stopped what they were doing and gave us their undivided attention, " Girl are yuh crazy stupid or somethin'? You gonna end up in de hospital if you keep doing dis shit! Just leave Lin alone" His Caribbean side coming out, Elijah's death grip loosen around my arm so I took the opportunity, snatched back my arm and dashed straight for Toni and the fact that she was distracted by Eli helped.

I grabbed a hold of the front of Toni's light blue top and watched her dead in the eye, hers blue and mine brown.I see it, her fear. I can even smell it. Good.

I pulled back slightly ready to punch the day lights out of her but then he spoke," Khylin don't ". His tone was harsh and demanding.

I shook my head,"She fucking slapped me!"

"Lo sé ... lo vi y estoy enojado pero no me inclino a su nivel. eres mejor que eso"
i know..i saw and i'm pissed but don't stoop to her level. you are better than that.

I shook my head again because he was right, I don't have the sad and distasteful life like some people did or do but my anger did land me in trouble a lot.

So you know what I did? I listen to him and I let her go. With my hands on my hips while still standing face to face with her I said,"He's right, i am not gonna stoop to yuh level and I'm not going to punch you and do you want to know why?.....coz I found Jesus - and I'm trying to be nice but I did tell you to count yuh blessings but you didn't listen" I took a few steps back with my hands out dramatically as if surrendering," but hey who don't hear, does feel" I turned around to leave the cafeteria but stopped as i remembered something else," Oh and Toni....remind yourself to pray tonight because I may have found Jesus but the Devil always come out to play" with that I give her an evil smile that holds a promise.

I left the cafeteria with Kyler right behind me but there was a question lingering in the back of my mind......

They held me back but i wonder, can do it by myself?
