Chapter Twelve

That night I stayed with Cheryl again. The next day she drives us both to school.

I go in to school and check my phone. I stand by myself before I'm interrupted.

"Sophia" I look up to see Sweetpea who is unable to look at me.

"Sweetpea" I whisper.

"We need to talk. It's important" he looks up at me for less than a second.

"Sure" I reply uncomfortably running my arm.

He pulls me to the janitor closet making sure nobody sees us going in.

"Really, Sweetpea?" I cross my arms. If his way of speaking is sex then I'm not up for it.

"It's not what you think. It's just so we can talk privately" I nod and wait for him to tell me whatever it is.

"I-I kisses betty" after him healing my heart, he broke it again. I feel tears swell up in my eyes as I tried to hide them.

"Did you kiss her or did she kiss you?" My voice cracks.

"She kissed me" he looks at the ground stuck on words.

"I have something to tell you" I look at the ground scared of the reaction.

"What?"

"I kissed Jughead" sweetpea's eyes widen.

"Did you kiss him?"

"He kissed me" I whisper.

Sweetpea goes red from anger and clenches his teeth.

Then, he kissed me. This a rough kiss. I think it's an angry kiss but I can't tell.

We lean our foreheads against each other.

"I'm sorry. I truly am" I whisper.

"Me too. Please don't hate me" he replies.

"I could never hate you. Ever" I look into his eyes as my hand slightly touched his neck.

We go out of the closet without anyone seeing us.

Again, I stay with Cheryl. I know I can't stay there forever but I don't know what terms me and Sweetpea are on.

The next day I go into school to see Jughead standing alone. I see the side of his head as he's in his locker.

I walk up to him.

"Hey" I smile to him.

"Hey" he replies not looking at me and hiding his face.

"Are you hiding?" I say trying to see his face.

"No" I pull his face around to see him with a black eye.

"Jug" I whisper and lightly touch it.

"It's nothing" he shuts his locker and walks away.
