Chapter 29-Not going

We were walking towards the boat we were going to use to get to the other side of the lake and continue our journey to Erebor. I was in the boat waiting for Kili to come in with me, but yet when I turned he was stopped by his Uncle

"Not you. We must travel at speed you will slow us down," Thorin said, taking things from a guard and putting it in the boat

"What are you talking about, I'm coming with you," Kili said, the look of disbelief on his face

"No, no" Thorin said

"I'm going to be there when that door is opened," he said, "When we first look upon the halls of our fathers-"

"Kili," Thorin said cutting him off, "Stay here, rest, Join us when you're healed," he said the last part quite quietly whilst cupping Kili's cheek and putting his forehead to his own. He let him go soon after and turned away, Kili back off slowly bewildered and sat on a crate nearby.

"I'll stay with the lad," Oin said, "My duty lies with the wounded, I looked in Kili's direction and how he was refusing help from Oin. I was about to get out of the boat when Bilbo stopped me

"Where are you going," He asked, I could also hear Fili and Thorin having a conversation about Thorin's choice as well

"I need to stay with him, Father," I said, I looked at Kili behind me, "I care about him too much to not,"

"You've found it," Bilbo said taking my hand making me look at him

"What?...." I asked

"You one......" Bilbo said, I looked from Bilbo to Kili then back to Bilbo again with wide eyes.....why does everybody keep saying that?!, "Go, be with him, He needs you more than ever....." I smiled giving Bilbo's hand one last squeeze before walking over to Kili. I heard the last of Thorin and Fili's conversation behind me

"Fili don't be a fool, you belong with the company," Thorin said

"I belong with my brother," Fili said, I smiled and walked over to Kili. Oin moved to the side

"Please," he said gesturing to Kili with his hands, I smiled slightly before putting my hand to Kili's forehead. My hand then made his way down to his cheek. I then let my arms go around my neck. Kili's arm went around my waist loosely. I wasn't sure if it was because of the loss of energy from the wound of if it was because he just got turned away by his own kin, whatever it was it made a tear fall down my cheek in sadness and worry for the handsome black-haired dwarf I had shared myself with on this quest. I slowly let go of Kili turning to watch to boat go, though instead of seeing the boat I saw a slightly upset Bofur standing there

"Bofur?" I said standing up getting his attention

"Oh, you guys missed the boat as well," he said slightly relieved he was not alone, I looked behind my at the rest to see Kili falling forward slightly. Oin and Fili held him up as I rushed over

"Kili......." I said putting a hand to his cheek, "His fevers gone up, we need to get some help......"
