Chapter 30- Kingsfoil

We found ourselves in a familiar setting as Bofur knocked on the door. It opened and an slightly angry Bard showed up

"No, I'm done with dwarves. Go away," Bard said, Bofur put his foot in the door as I pushed it back open

"Please, no one will help us....."I trailed off, "Kili's sick...." we all look at him

"He's very sick...." Bofur said, Bard nodded and let us come in

"Sigrid get the bed ready, Bain help our guests," Bard said

"Thank you," I said to him, he nodded in reply before going to do something. Tilda came up to me smiling, soon her smile fell

"Why aren't you on the boat?" She asked me

"You see my friend over there," I asked her, she nodded, "Well he got hit with an arrow from an Orc and now he's really sick......" I trailed off

"You really care for him," she said

"Of course," I said

"I think it's more than friends, you're almost crying. Are you like mummy and da?" she asked, my eyes widen

"I suppose, possibly in the future......" I said and walked over to Kili, she followed me over the boys had him on a little make-shift bed. He was groaning and moaning and trying to get up whilst the boys held him down. I unwrapped the wound and winced, it was worse than we last saw it and way worse than I thought it was going to be. I looked to my left and saw Tilda holding a bowl of water and a cloth. I smiled at her taking the cloth and soaked it in the water. I took it out of the water and held it above the wound.

"Now this might sting........a lot," I said and pushed the cloth down onto the wound, Kili cried in pain. He started to writhe around again.

"Can you not do something?" Fili asked Oin

"We need herbs, something to bring down his fever," Oin said, Bard then started listing off herbs he had whilst putting the jars on the table, "There no use to me...." Oin said. I then remember something in my book about healing Mortal shaft wounds through elven healing

"Do you have any Kingsfoil?!" I shouted over the yells of pain

"No, it's a weed. We feed it to the pigs," Bard answered

"Pigs, weed....right," Bofur said he went to leave and then turned back around, "Stay there," he then rushed off out the door. I rolled my eyes at Bofur's stupidness

"Why Kingsfoil? Why not any of the other herbs?!" Fili exclaimed

"No she's onto something......." Oin said

"Elven healing," We said at the same time

"But what about the words?" Oin said

"My book...." I said taking it out of its pouch, "I have a section on elven healin-" I stopped myself when I turned to the page where the elven healing was supposed to be, yet all that was there was wet ink and ruined pages.

"It must've got ruined in the river.....I'm sorry lass," Oin said I shook my head

"It's fine, " I said

"Can you remember any of it?" Oin said

"Of by heart....yes......" I said, "But I've never done it on anyone before,"

"Lass if we can't do anything else, you'll need to try," Oin said and went to get more water, I looked at Fili who had fear in his eyes

"I'm sorry about your book," he said

"Who care about that stupid book, I've got dozens more at home. What matter now is that you brother makes it to get home," I said looking down at Kili, "I care about him more than a stupid book......" Fili looked at me with a small smile

"And he cares about you the same....." he said

"I doubt it...." I said, Oin came back with another bowl of water. I dipped the cloth in it trying to clean the wound again

"Remember, (Y/N), the journey's not over yet....." Fili said, quoting me from when we were at Beorn's home

It had been quite a while and Bofur still hadn't come back from fetching the Kingsfoil. When a shack went through the house.

"Da?" Sigrid said

"It's coming from the mountain," Bain said looking out the window, Fili left Kili for a second to go talk to Bard

"You should leave us, take your children get out of here," Fili said

"And go where, there is no-where to go," Bard said in reply, before looking down at his youngest daughter

"Are we going to die, Da?" Tilda said

"No darling," Bard breathed

"The dragon, it's going to kill us," Tilda said worriedly, Bard looked above him before pulling something down from the roof where multiple things were hanging

"Not if I kill it first," Bard said holding up a black arrow. My heart stopped, the last black arrow was in the village and the one man that had it was using it as a hanger?! Bard left the house with Bain following him. So many things were happening lately it was hard to keep up with.

It had been quite a while since Bard and Bofur had left. Bain had come back alone and Bofur hadn't come back at all. Sigrid had heard a noise and went to go outside to check it. The next thing I heard was her scream as she rushed inside an Orc following her. Oin threw plates and Fili ran into the orc.

"I'll be right back......" I said to Kili kissing his forehead before taking out my sword and rushing into battle, but too many were coming in for only the three of us. I looked towards the door way to see another coming, but it was gone in an instant and in its place stood Tauriel. I gasped and smiled glad to have someone else on our side, my mind had rushed thoughts as I went over to Tauriel.

"What are you doing here?" I said

"Saving you," She said smiling, we then charged at the other orcs both stabbing one in the back, I then looked to where I heard a light thud and saw Legolas, bow ready

"Gwanur" I smiled, he smiled back before going straight faced again attacking Orcs left and right. I heard Kili scream, I rushed to grab my dagger and throw it at the Orc who was trying to dragging Kili off the bed, hitting it right in the neck, sticking into the wall behind it, trapping it. I went towards the bed and killed orcs on my way there. Fili made the girls duck down as I went to kill another orc. Grabbing it by its hand, but before I could kill it, Kili jabbed a knife into its side, killing it before falling onto the floor yelling in pain. My eyes widened. Behind me I heard voices so I turned around.

"You killed them all," Bain said

"There are others, Tauriel, Seler, come" Legolas said, Tauriel walked towards him. I looked down and saw Oin holding onto Kili

"We're losing him," He said, tears caught in my eyes

"(Y/N)," Legolas said before walking off. I looked at Tauriel, she grabbed my wrist

"There's nothing we can do for him now......." She said

"But I can," I said to her, she sighed as she turned. She then saw Bofur standing in front of her. She put her hands on her hips and reaching out and taking the weed from Bofur's hands.

"Atheross (Kingsfoil)" She said, I looked at her pleading with my eyes

"What are you doing?" Bofur said

"I'm going to help save him........." She said, I raised a brow

"Help?" I asked, she grabbed my wrist and dragged me inside

"Yes, Help you," She said

"WHAT?!"
