Syzelle's P.O.V.
Its' been a while. I sat alone in my own field watching as the animals gather around me. My light blue kimono fluttered with the soft breeze damping on my skin.
I closed my eyes. It's been a long time my friends.
I could barely remember the faces but I know they're around somewhere. Still alive.
My nieces's reminds me so much of me when I was young, my thirst for adventure like Ryna, the same fire ignited in my eyes back then. The vague feeling of it slowly come back to me. Lyra meanwhile, reminds me of my old self. I am a dutiful daughter, I am loyal to my country and always ready to dedicate my life just like her to her mother, my younger sister.
Honestly, I am ashamed. Very ashamed of myself. Why do I have to let myself fall into a trick of others?.
Why do I have to let my own blood nieces do the dirty job that is meant for me to do?. I bitterly smiled at myself gazing at the green soft ground on my feet. A soft screech up on the sky distracted me on my thoughts. A beautiful light blue bird met my gaze as his descended on the ground. For some reason, I could feel the weight of his gaze on me. His feathers elegantly swept down as he landed and walked slowly to my way. All the animals who is either sleeping or standing made way for the elegant bird that descended out of nowhere.
"Syzelle...." A low masculine voice reached my ears. My breathing hitched as I heard the familiar voice in my throat. I swiftly stood up from my seat and walked contrast to the bird. I don't want to her what this intelligent bird has to say. I could feel something uncomfortable bubbling in my chest.
"When will you stop running away Queen Syzelle?" I unknowingly clenched my fist but continued walking away from the bird. I heard a flutter of wings from behind me as I felt a sudden gush of wind passed me swiftly. I held my hair in place as I covered my eyes from my other free hand. The moment that the wind stopped, the bird asked again.
"Do I have to ask again Syzelle??" His eyes froze me into place. I didn't know what to say, how can I answer back?
"Don't tell me that you have forgotten even my name Queen?"
"........"
I closed my eyes.
"ne,ne~ what is that en-kun? can we take a look?" I eagerly asked the red-head prince who is uncoincidentally making a very stoic face once again. The boy just side glanced at me uninterested making me pout. My neck turned over to the direction where the noise has been making my eyes burning with curiosity.
"Princess, pls." The maid that was following us pleaded. "Let the guards deal with it princess, it may be a wild animal." I nodded slowly and looked down. It's sad. My father warned me that the Kou kingdom is very unlike our kingdom where I have the freedom to do whats I pleased. From the maids up to the Royalties, every one has very strict manners that I have to do in return as a sign of respect as a guest.
We continued our walk in the garden with the maids and guards in tow. A few guards were dispatched earlier to check what is the commotion earlier. " Leave us." I heard En-kun's order as I sat on the nearby bench to sit. All of the maids bowed in unison at us and left. Th guards saluted before going on their posts too leaving us alone in the garden. I lowered my head slowly as I looked at the plants growing in front of my eyes.
My eyes were locked on a flower when he suddenly pulled my arm dragging me to somewhere. My head clouded on puzzlement as we traced back the path we passed earlier. "Where are we going En-kun?"
" Aren't you curious to see earlier?"
I felt my lips rised up without me knowing. I lowered my gaze, " No need to act polite Syzelle, you can be at ease around me." I looked at him in the eye as if searching for something but the stoice look on his face is the only one that I can see. I restrained myself from giggling but obviously failed that I ended up hiccuping as repeated number of laughter bursts out from my lips. "hehehe.......If you say so En-kun~"
I happily walk to him one by one and slightly bowed my body, my eyes not looking away from him, I tucked my tongue out in mischievousness that suddenly came over me and ran away from him. I searched over in the bush and my eyes melted at the scene in front of me.
A very beautiful bird is laying on the ground as I could only stare helplessly. The vibrant colored feathers were soaked with the bright color of its blood. Not knowing how to react, the bird's clear eyes met mine, "take care of my son..."
A woman's gentle voice pleaded to me. She opened her bloodied wings and a small bird with blue colored feather appeared before my eyes. I could feel En-kun's arrival behind me, like the gaze that followed after he saw the scene in front of me.
"Syzelle...?"
I swallowed. "I will." I kneeled in front at the almost dead bird and took the baby bird in my arms. The mother's bird gaze never left her young, I could feel her sorrow in the pit of my stomach. It's a very sad thing for the parents to not see their youngs grown up beside them. I am very thankful that my mother and father never left me and instead, stayed with me and supported me. I closed my eyes and bowed at the bird respectfully until her head fell to the ground motionless. "Thank You...."
" You are the one who gave me my name, but why won't you let me give it to you?" The bird asked. I closed my eyes.
I stood up and faced En-kun with resolution on my face. His gaze on my face is burning but I remained unfaze and instead smiled like nothing happened. "Will you take care of the young?"
I nodded. " The mother entrusted her young to me, I would not betray her trust."
"What will you call him?
"Nobuyuki....which means trust and happiness. Trust. I want to show his mother that he did't chose wrong to give his son to me. Happiness...." I looked at En-kun with a smile, " I have a feeling that he will bring happiness to the both of us.
"Nobuyuki, for trust and happiness...." I muttered. " Honestly, I don't know it myself. I'm very confused and the only thing that is on my mind now is that I'll never find my own happiness."
"That's so unlike you, Syzelle. Why would you even think that? Didn't you now how many you have made to smile?"
I looked at Nobuyuki with a helpless smile on my face. " Thank You for your Visit, Nobu...."
"Didn't you know that he didn't give up looking for you?"
