~Dan's POV~

It felt...good, to let my feelings out.

Louise decided to make dinner and call Phil's mom to let her know he was here as I made my way to the guest room. I opened the door and walked over to the chair sitting by the bed, I sat there for a good three minutes, just staring at him. My heart suddenly felt whole again. Like it had this summer when I texted Phil for the first time in forever, and for some reason, it warmed my heart to know he was back in my life. Suddenly, I noticed his eyes flicker, "D-Dan...?" He mumbled.

"Yeah Phil, I'm here you're safe." He slowly sat up, yawning and groaning.

"What-what happened? How'd I get here?" His beautiful blue eyes distracted me for a minute,

"Oh, umm, I found you in the alley and called the first number I saw on your phone. Louise stitched you back together." A warm feeling started in my heart as he smiled slightly, "umm, we called your mom, she knows you're here and Louise is making dinner... So I-I thought I'd come to check on you" My eyes avoided his and before I knew it I was staring at the floor like an idiot.

"Thank you," he smiled, I nodded, "Dan..." my eyes met his, "Why'd you save me?" His voice was overflowing with fear and uncertainty.

His beautiful pools of blue started pouring into my soul. I felt a light blush form on my cheeks, "Umm, well," I sighed, "I saw you in trouble, Phil. I wasn't just gonna leave you there," I smirked as he nodded. "I guess it's kind of my way of repaying you I guess..."

"Repaying me? For what? I've done nothing special?" He smirked and I almost wanted to smack him for thinking he hadn't made my life whole by being a part of it.

"D-don't say that!" I shouted he flinched in shock at my sudden change of tone, "Sorry... But don't say that Phil, you gave me a great childhood and you were there for me...when my mom died... You were the only one I could tell, the only one I could trust-"

I felt tears start to form in my eyes as he pulled me into a hug. I didn't hug back at first but I soon did, "Shh... It's okay Dan," his voice was soothing and somehow calming me down. I missed him.

*The Next Day*

Phil and Louise had offered to wait for me so we could all walk to school together, I was hesitant but I accepted.

My alarm started blaring as I realized it was morning. Slowly, I pushed myself out of my warm bed, I looked around my room band posters and dark colors covered the walls. I walked over to my dresser and grabbed my black ripped skinny jeans and a black jumper. Black as my color. I grabbed my bag and walked to my bathroom to brush my teeth and straighten my hair and put my piercings in. I had gotten red highlights put in two years ago and I was ecstatic about it as well as snake bites, and eyebrow bar and several other piercings. I didn't wear any shirts without sleeves anymore or at least since my mom died. I slowly and quietly made my way down the stairs, trying to avoid my dad as much as I could. I quickly grabbed my lunch and rushed towards the door when something grabbed me and threw me to the floor. My head smashed against the tile flooring as laughing echoed through the room, "Not so fast kiddo!" Within seconds a foot collided with my stomach causing me to wince in pain.

"Stop!" I shouted as I quickly got to my feet and tried to stand without falling. He just continued to laugh and hit me, as I tried to block his punches. Soon after several hits he picked me up by my neck and threw me into the glass coffee table, shattering it completely. He continued to laugh as he left the room, leaving me there. After several moments of me just lying there, I decided to get up. Glass piercing my skin as I got to my feet and rushed out the door. I started walking and soon met up with Louise and Phil who asked why I was late and why I looked like I had just been in a fight but I said it as nothing and dismissed the conversation.
