Chapter 11: More About You

My lungs burned and tears fell on my cheeks as I ran through the now nearly abandoned streets. My legs grew week and though I could no longer hear the sound of the hounds I would not be fooled again. I climbed up a ladder to the roof and preceded to hide in a dark corner. I sat there shivering from fear, the sun was beginning to set and the darkness seemed to taunt me. My mind rushed through my memories terrorizing me with each image of his evil. I remembered the screams of me and many others as we were beaten and broken for his purposes. I remembered the blood-soaked walls and the putrid smells of death that followed me into his chamber. I remembered the shadows clinging to me their nails scratching at my skin and their voices dragging my spirit to the grave. Suddenly I felt a presence; a dark one I searched the area with my eyes. I was disturbed to find nothing, I then heard a voice calling to me from below.

Vio: Opal? Are you all right? Could you come down, please?

It was Vio! I practically jumped down the ladder and into arms. I sobbed into his chest as he hushed me and pat my head. After I had cried all of the tears that I could he bent down and looked into my eyes.

Vio: Opal please don't ever run away like that again. I was scared that I might never find you. You musn't carry all of your burdens alone. There was never any danger we were near a dog breeders house. Next time come closer to me, I will protect you. 

 I felt comforted by his words yet I still felt uneasy I know that something was near. But I was so tired from running and the sudden relief that washed over me scrubbed away the adrenaline as well. My legs buckled underneath me and I slumped to the ground breathing heavily.

Vio: You have exhausted yourself completely. Well, I guess there is no helping it. I stood up and picked her up bridal style. I blushed heavily and I felt her body tense and then relax again. I hugged her close to my body. How could I ever help her overcome her past that she feared so much? How could such a frail girl fight so hard to stay away from her master? How could she keep fighting like that? She seemed so timid at first glance but inside her, she must have a flame. I was shocked when I felt her lightly kiss my cheek. I turned to see her blushing madly and I leaned in to give her a kiss...

Red: Vio! Opal! Where were you guys we couldn't find you anywhere! 

Vio: I sighed and blushed. Can you walk Opal?

I nodded at this point I could run a few miles. I can't believe I kissed him! 

Blue: What were you two doing while we busy talking? Making love to each other? I made a kissy face at them. To my surprise, Opal's and Vio's faces turned bright red as they snuck a glance at each other. 

Vio: So what have you guys determined? 

Blue: Changing the subject are we? That only makes you guys look more suspicious. 

Green: Quit bothering them Blue, anyway Vio we decided to let Opal in on our mission on one condition.

Vio: And that would be?

Red: That she comes with us!

Green: Yes Red that she comes with us.

Vio: Would you give us the honor of accompanying us on our journey?

I nodded my head and Red jumped up and down with excitement while hugging me. Vio looked relieved and Green and Blue grinned at Red's excitement. 

Green: Alright then prepare yourselves we leave on our journey after breakfast. Vio could you brief Opal on our adventure?

Vio: Absolutely. 

Green: Good the rest of us will double check the lists and make sure that we have everything that we will be needing...

Blue: Blah blah blah we get it already!

Green: Why don't you shut up already and let me finish explaining! 

With that, a fight commenced, me, Vio, and Red decided to not get involved this time. 

Vio: Opal, we were given an assignment from Princess Zelda to find six magic pearls and return them to her all the while fighting monsters and finding out who exactly we are fighting. You see a darkness is beginning to consume the surrounding villages and those in the villages are never seen again. Princess Zelda fears that perhaps the kingdom is under attack and as her knights, it's our duty to follow her commands and free the land. Does that answer all of your questions?

I couldn't think of anything else. Wait... I had one. I pointed at Red and Vio and then wrote in the dirt: Why do you look alike? 

Vio: That is a bit more difficult. You see Opal, me, Red, Blue, and Green are all the same person. We were split into four different people and the personalities of the person we once were are split across the four of us. 

I was beyond confused but I decided to nod my head and go with it. I had a feeling Vio would have a hard time explaining it further. 

Red: Yeah, and we decided we liked being like this so now we call each other brothers. Hehe we even look like quadruplets!

Blue and Green finally (after an hour) stopped arguing and we all went back to the hotel. 

I lay in bed thinking over the past few days when I suddenly head some movement in my room. I jumped up, blade in hand but found no one. I decided it had to be the house settling and that I was just on edge from the past events. I then went to sleep not long after. 

Sleep tight whispered a voice. 

Unknown: Finally sweet inspiration I missed you!

Blue: What took you so freaking long? 

Unknown: I was having writer's block okay! No big deal it's not like that many people even read this book.

Blue: So what! I was looking forward to it! Oops. I mean... you are just being lazy! 

Unknown: Nice try Blue I heard that.

Vio: And I filmed that. 

Blue: Hey! Give me the phone Violet!

Vio: Call me that again and the internet sees this video!

Unknown: Watch yourself Blue.

Blue: You watch yourself! Vio give me the phone or I'll...

Vio: You'll what? 

Blue: Ugh! 

Blue marches out the door and slams it shut.

Unknown: You wouldn't really post that on Youtube would you?

Vio: No but it's like you said blackmail is always useful. 

Unknown: Remind me to never get on your bad side.

Vio: Now back to the subject at hand...

Unknown: What subject?

Vio: What's this about you not wanting to post a new chapter?

Unknown: Well the last one only got five views.

Vio: Unknown I thought that you would write even if only one person read your book.

Unknown: Your right I did say that.

Vio: And your book has gotten 150 views so far! Give it time.

Unknown: (chuckles) I guess I have always been bad at the whole patience thing. 

Vio: Yes you have but as long as you give it your all nothing else matters, right?

Unknown: You keep quoting me.

Vio: Because those things are true for you. Don't give up.

Unknown: Thanks Vi! (gives a big hug)

Vio: Unknown you are very welcome but could you please not hug me?

Unknown: Oh sorry, Red must be rubbing off on me anyway would you like to end this?

Vio: Very well. Unknown Out.
