Chapter 12: Can We Make it Out Alive?

After breakfast, we headed out of that stupid town. It wasn't like the town was that terrible though. I blushed thinking about kissing Vio. Flicker woke up and flew from the sachel. I had introduced everyone to her at breakfast and of course, Red freaked out. On the surface, everything seemed fine but underneath I couldn't get this sick feeling out of my head. Something was drawing closer and waiting for the perfect time to strike. Every night phantoms of the past haunted me. Regrets and pain were all too familiar to me and filled up most of my life. I wanted to forget them or at least get rid of them! But if he ever finds me he... will kill everything I care about and leave me alive to live in a meaningless existence. I looked up and smiled, those four were laughing and messing around. Even Vio seemed to drop his normal calm attitude and join in their fun. They swatted at each other and ran through the trees chasing each other while Flicker squeaked at them and stole their hats. Where did I fit into all of this? I forced myself not to cry and tried to enjoy the funny scene in front of me. 

Red: Ahhh! I'm sorry Blue I won't ever do it again I swear!

Blue: (twist Red's arm a bit harder) And?

Red: I am a measly worm!

Blue: And...

Before he could say anything else Green tackled him and Vio followed. I had trouble making out whose legs were who's in that pile. I sat there watching them bicker back and forth trying to put each other in a hold of some kind. I couldn't help but smile as Vio walked out of the heap dusting himself off. 

Vio: I think I may regret that for the rest of my existence.

I smiled at him and shook my head. I knew he secretly enjoyed it, he was just too proud to admit it. Red was the next one to trudge out of the group he had his lip stuck out and he was cradling his arm.  

Red: That really hurt! 

Flicker seemed to bond very close to everyone quickly and seemed to know when everyone started feeling down. She dove to Red's shoulder and followed up by purring like a cat and rubbing against his cheek. Before you knew Red was smiling again and everyone was in high spirits. Well everyone but me, I was really just pretending. I shouldn't even be feeling this way, it is disrespectful to those around me. They took me in I should be grateful for that and forget about before. 

(Time skip Because it is to much work to write all of the boring days.) 

Four days later.

The pearls of light? Why were these things so freaking hard to find? We spent a full four days wandering around until we found this cave full of monsters. It is taking us forever to get through this dungeon! Monsters everywhere and darks shapes following us around. I didn't want to say anything because... I can't but you know what I mean. Anway those shadows remind me of when I was imprisoned. I saw them everywhere but I thought they were just my imagination or visions from lack of sunlight. Imagin my surprise when the others took notice of them as well. Another thing about this cave was that is was no cave of wonders or anything like that. It smelled about as bad as a moblins butt. Even though I had been trapped in a place with little to no sunshine for a large portion of my life I had started really enjoying the light. Not that I had much time to think about that stuff when we were getting attacked so often. Blue always charged ahead and he scares me a bit with how careless he can act. Vio is similar, even though he uses a bow he often chooses to take attacks more than he should. It was almost as if they were defending Red and Green. I always knew that Green was a good fighter but he truly shined in combat that combined with his leadership skills made him someone I knew had my back. Red is the one who surprised me most he fights with his fire rod but only when things take a turn for the worst. He mostly relies on his slingshot and sword. His fighting style is unique to him, he will cause a distraction and then when the others charge he will take out his sword and duck and fight near their legs. And me well... me and Flicker did our best I doubt we were as good as them. The thing is I fought like every fight was my last, I act a bit despite in battle and not at all cool and collected. Flicker spit some sort of hot liquid in the enimies eyes and distracted them as I fought. Nothing else mattered to me but winning the fight, I don't know why that is. 

Fight begins

Green: Red distract the big one! Vio take care of the archers! Blue take care of the brunts of their forces! Opal you... Opal?

I was already gone taking down ever enemy I could. My mind clouded with things I'd rather forget.

Vio: Opal be careful! I shoot a mublin behind her. She was a different person in battle she even scared me a bit with her ruthlessness. Head in the battle Vio, use precision and concentration. I breathe out and let another arrow fly that hits the target through the head. 

Blue: The enemies reminded me of insects they were both dumb and smelly yet they had numbers that were frightening. I cut down three more and ten took their places. I hated to say this but I was getting overtaken. Vio! Were is my covering fire! I look up to see that the moblins had broken through and forced him to go on the defense. 

Green: I slice through a few more moblins, I was beginning to grow tired. Where were these things coming from? We were getting boxed in and I could now clearly see Blue and Opal. They are closer than they realized and not in their corners. Vio and Red were both getting overrun and unable to provide covering fire or distractions for us to escape. We might not make it out of this one. As I thought that a moblin arrow pierced my left arm and pain shot through my body.

Unknown: Sorry this took so long to write you guys. I wanted to say thank you to all of my faithful readers! 

Green: Who are you talking to? 

Unknown: Myself mostly anyway whats sup?

Green: Nothing, unfortunately.

Unknown: No pirates raiding the harbor or boss battles?

Green: Sigh I wish.

Unknown: Haha you shouldn't say it like that. What else do you want to do? Isn't everyone else doing something fun or whatever? 

Green: Vio at the library, Red is baking a cake, Blue is cleaning again, and I don't really have anything else to do.

Unknown: Hmm what is your favorite past time?

Green: Being with everyone else or fencing.

Unknown: Well how about we do something fun together?

Green: There is a movie showing at the theater. Would you go with me?

Unknown: Sounds great, what is showing?

Green: The Good Dinosaur, it sounds really good.

Unknown: Alright I will buy the snacks. 

Green: Alright time to finish up, Unknown Out!
