I sat alone at the table, watching the graceful figures dance fluidly. My fiery, red curls were braided and piled on top of my head. My fingernails tapped rhythmically to beat of the slow song. Alone at my own mother’s wedding, great. Even my little sister is nowhere to be found.

“Hello.” He said. The blonde hair with the natural brunette prominent, beautifully crooked smile, and shining blue eyes was all perfectly flawed.

“Hi.” I said, meeting his eyes, a loose curl falling into my eyes.

“Are you alone?” He asked, sitting in the wicker chair in front of me.

“Unfortunately.” I sighed, taking a glance at the smiling couples. He stood up and he held his hand out for me to grab.

“Want to dance?” He asked charmingly, taking my hand before an answer was given. I nodded and got out of my seat, my heels getting caught on my silver and emerald floor-length gown. He laid a hand on my waist and grabbed my hand with the other. My hand lay on his shoulder. “Do you have a name?” He asked. I smiled.

“Alexandria.” I said as he turned me under his arm.

“Beautiful name.” He said and I could feel myself blush.

“Now do you have a name or should I call you ‘Boy’?” I said. He cackled and I laughed along with him. I’m pretty sure I am going to remember that laugh.

“Niall.” He said, his blue eyes twinkling.

“Nice to meet you, Niall.” I smiled and I could feel envious eyes on me. He swept the loose curl behind my ear. He twirled me again and the fabric of my gown flowed out at my sides as I turned. He ended the dance in a dip, his face just inches from mine.

“I think we’ll get along just fine.” I said, and his cheeks reddened. We walked up to his hotel room and locked the door, a ‘Do Not Disturb’ sign hung on the doorknob.

~5 ½ MONTHS LATER~

I waited by the computer, for what feels like hours. I braided my long red curls to the side and almost feel asleep at the desk the computer was kept in. The computer started to flash and ring. I accepted the call and Niall’s blue eyes, crooked smile, and blonde hair filled the screen. I lifted my head off the desk and my hood was still on top of my head.

“Hey sweetie.” I smiled and he smiled.

“Hey Alex.” He said. My smile grew as he called me by my name. Most people call me Lexi, but he always liked to call me Alex.

“How is everything in England?” I asked, plugging my earphones into the audio jack.

“It’s stressful, but they said they’re thinking about putting me in some type of group.” He said.

“Niall!” I said, flabbergasted, “That’s amazing!” He blushed the darkest shade of scarlet I’ve seen on him. “Do I get to meet them?” I said. He smiled.

“Of course.” He said happily.

“Hello Niall.” A deep voice called out of the frame.

“Oh hello Liam!” Niall said enthusiastically and a boy with brown eyes and long dirty blonde hair came into frame. “This is Alex.” He said, “Alex, this is Liam, he’s also in the boot camp.”

“Hello Liam.” I smiled.

“Nice to meet you.” He said as my younger sister came bursting through the door.

“Will you shut up?!” She demanded, walking up to the computer screen.

“Melissa go away!” I snapped.

“Maybe if you didn’t talk on the stupid computer every hour of the night.” She growled.

“You’re so whiney! It’s 11:45!” I hollered. She glared at me as she tried to find a seat. I glared back with more passion. “I will kill you then feed you to your stupid dog.” I hissed and she backed out of the room and slammed the door. “Sorry.” I turned to the blank computer screen. I sighed. He must’ve had something to do, or he didn’t want to hear me threaten my little sister. “Goodnight, I love you too.” I whispered sadly as I shut down the computer.

~A MONTH OR SO LATER~

I walked into the enormous building that The X Factor was held in. I met with two kind middle-aged women that led me to my seat where they sat as well. They both had long dark hair and looked way too young for their age.

“What is your name?” I turned to the woman on my right. She smiled kindly and warmly.

“Johannah, but you can call me Jay.” She said."

"Hello Jay," I smiled, "Is your child in The X Factor?"

"Yes, my son Louis is in a band." She said proudly. The woman on the left leaned over as well.

"My son is in the same band, his name is Harry." The woman on the left said. I looked at her confused. "I'm Anne." She smiled and shook my hand.

"Does this band happen to have a blonde Irish boy with blue eyes?" I asked.

"Yes, his name is Niall." Jay said politely.

"That's my boyfriend!" I stated excitedly.

"Oh you're Alex, aren't you?" Anne asked.

"Yes I am." I said and I shushed them as the curtains were opening.

~A COUPLE HOURS LATER~

The crew finally let the family of the contestants through to the back of the stage and I hid with Jay as Louis's cousin. We found their dressing room and Niall was nowhere to be found. There were only a boy with big chocolate brown eyes and raven hair; Liam from the Skype call; a boy with bouncy chocolate brown curls and brilliant green eyes; and a boy with floppy brown hair, a goofy smile, and deep blue eyes.

"Mum, who is this?" The boy with the goofy smile said.

"She's your cousin, Louis." Jay winked and her son nodded as she watched the secruity guards that stood at the door.

"Cuz!" He smiled and hugged me.

"I'm Niall's girlfriend, they don't let anyone but family back here." I whispered in his ear and he passed it on to the other boys.

"Boys, this is my cousin, Alex." He winked and all the boys smiled mischeviously.

"I'm Harry." The curly-headed boy said and shook my hand.

"Zayn, nice to meet you." The black haired boy said and gave me a small hug.

"And I have already met Louis and Liam." I smiled, "Where's Niall?" Harry pointed to a door in the back of the room. "Ok, thank you." I smiled and opened the door. I couldn't tell how big the room was or how it looked because the room was pitch black. I closed the door behind me. I felt the walls for a light switch and illuminated the room. What I saw was horrific. Niall's arms were wrapped around a long-legged brunette with a slutty skirt that barely covered her ass. Her fingers were tangled in his hair and it wasn't a kiss, they were full blown snogging. I burst through through the other door and ran down the halls and into the freezing rain. I signaled a taxi and once I was alone, the tears would not stop.
