"LEXI WAKE UP!!!" My 17 year old sister, Melissa's shrill voice disturbed my deep sleep. I groaned and checked my alarm clock.

"MELISSA, WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU DOING WAKING ME UP AT 7:00 IN THE MORNING?!" I screamed from my bed.

"I have school to get to." She said impatiently at my doorway.

"What the f-" I said getting out my bed, "you have your own alarm clock and bus pass. You don't need a ride from me!"

"Breakfast?" She asked. I glared at her.

"Fine." I said as I padded across the wooden floor of my room to my closet, slipped my feet into my alligator slippers and an Ed Sheeran sweatshirt over my head. I dragged myself out to the kitchen and threw a pound of bacon on the granite counter. Melissa smiled at me triumphantly as I tied my ginger hair into a ponytail. "I wish I could strangle you." I grumbled, setting a frying pan on the stove and turning the heating dial.

"Hey, I'm your sister, that's mean!" She protested.

"Well you could not eat my food or live in my flat and live with Mom and Danny." I growled.

"Jesus, you are terrible in the mornings." She moaned. I rolled my eyes and set a cold slice of bacon onto the frying pan.

"How many pieces do you want?" I said, sauteing the bacon in the pan.

"Three would be fine." She said as I set the bacon on a paper plate on the breakfast bar. Melissa smiled as I handed her a glass of orange juice and sipped my own. She had bleach blonde hair that was 100% completely natural and dark navy blue eyes. She's my half sister, she has the same mum as me, but her father is different. My step-father Danny (which is her father) had dark brown hair and light blue eyes. My mother had lighter brown hair with my green eyes (my father's hair was red like me...I think. He died when I was young.). So her blonde hair and dark eyes are mysteries.

"Are you gonna leave or are you gonna completely flunk school and live with me until you die tragically after I push you from the fire escape?" I said impatiently. She glared at me, her mouth agape and grabbed her backpack and ran out the door of the flat. I sighed happily, enjoying the rarity of having a day off from either work at the restaurant across the street or my final classes to become a stylist. I tore off a piece of bacon and chewed it and swallowed. The delicious hictory aftertaste turned to a disgusting, sickening flavor as the contents of my stomach crept up my throat. I ran into the nearest bathroom threw up into the toilet. An excruciating pain throbbed against my forehead and my temples. My vision blurred as I struggled to my feet and looked through my medicine cabinet for pain relievers. I shoved the pills down my throat and swallowed a mouthful of water from the sink. My vision clarified as I made myself a ice pack for my still throbbing skull. I creeped my way to the door and grabbed the mail from the little mail box that hung beside my door. I sat at the table and shuffled through some bills, magazines, and junk mail until I came across a  yellow envelope addressed to me. I forced my thumb under the seal and ripped it open. I pulled out the yellow letter that said:
