Sipping his coffee, he had put down the sander on the floor, trying to wrap his head around what Nolan had explained as he bit into his own ham sandwich from the local deli down the road of Bicker.
"Ok, so after some Glam, and way to much wine. Which this what you said, you bedded not only her but her boyfriend. And everyone is happy and no one got killed out the raging fey are known for if you touch someone they are dating?" Conner asked, eyeing the long-haired man who had on his sunglasses.
Nodding, Nolan smiled, peeking over the rim of the glasses as his onyx eyes beaming in his conquest. "Yes, it was simple when you say it so frankly Conner.
Conner looked at his best friend as he also took a bit of his roast beef wrap dripping with too many sauces to count. Trying not to say anymore or even picture more of the complex details Nolan had told him. The handyman only went back to his work and measured and looked that new counter he was building for the shop. This was how he made his living mostly, doing odd jobs around the small towns like Bicker and keeping to himself.
Well minus the offbeat warlock who was trolling his Facebook page and giggling like some Japanese schoolgirl over the dumb shit he might click on. Nolan was true to face warlock and not the evil kind who did things in darker things name. Warlocks came to be if they were only the 7th male child born a true blood witch.
Often marked by their onyx eyes and powers that seemed to be more on the dark tone of energies. Also with anyone with an above human nose, warlocks tended to smell of burned things of decay if they went into the deeper evil of things. Nolan
smelled like burned toast mostly, given he really didn't use magic too much these days unless pushed.
Nolan was an all about nice guy who loved kids and teaching them and would fuck anything he could that was adult and ok with it. He really didn't fit in with his whole kind that tended to like the darker side of things and used all sorts of dark magic in everyday life with cursing and power gains.
"Something on your mind pretty boy? I know I'm handsome, but you had your chance at that party at high school when I kissed you while drunk!" Nolan batted his eyes, flirty grin and looking all the fool.
Shaking his head, Conner just bit back his smile in memory lane for a moment. "Suuureee magic man. Anything else to tell me about, or are you going to help me out a bit as you promised you might?"
Nolan bit his kissable lips in leaning on the work in progress and crossed his toned arms over his blue tank top in flexing a little as a few women walked by and took a gander in blushing and walking away from the flirt with a grin. "Got wind someone a few days ago bought out Jay's bar that closed down last year."
Looking back, he had missed his friends full-on flirt moment as he took in the news. "Really? Given it was the only local place with cheap alcohol, broke many a drunks heart that winter's day."
Barking out a laugh, Nolan loved Conner off witt remarks, "I also got more, seems the new owner is a woman and she also went and took over the Martins old place ten miles outside of the home. Kat said it looks like a group of them are camping out and working on the joint to make it liveable. One of them abled at Star School for the History Teacher's job last week."
Any things of humor seemed to die as Nolan felt the shift of his friend's normal playful aura to one of a tension in just wrapping up his stance and looking up. His blue eyes had become steel shaded in those broad shoulders shifted over his lean built. Pulling a step back, Nolan had only seen Conner be like this a number of times and it was only hitting number five in the count.
"A group, as in living together in an old house that can house them?" He asked every word echoed in a growl as his eyes locked on the warlock.
"Um, yes...."
Standing straighter, Conner walked away as every step felt like lead in his hiking boots. Knowing even if was just a few clues, he knew how his kind did things.
"Nol, werewolves have come to Bicker."
