Her milky eye rolled a little, the skin tightening around the orb as her one good brown also narrowed. Much of her ash hair had been put up in a messy bun as the spoon she had been using on the soup stopped the stirring.

"What yah me they are gone?" she growled, her voice filling with raw thunder.

Mason winced, seeing his grandmother so angry was not a good start. Hell, he and the others had drawn straws to see who would give the bad news to the head of the Saw clan. She was only five feet, yet this small woman was known as one of the deadliest hunters in America and with the most kills of any supernatural creature by any means, she would use. The deep scar on her cheek and a dull gray eye were just one of many scars Abby Saw had.

Rubbing his massive hands, part of his middle finger gone from a hunt, Mason looked up, feeling the sweat gather on his inner back in her death stare. "Its been over 24 hours from their last call in and their tracker lights are gone off the map too."

Abby took a moment to turn off the gas stove, pulling off the black apron to lay on the table. "And you are telling me this now?"

Yep, he was a dead man! Mason tried to square his shoulders, having a good foot or more on the small woman. "I know grandmother, just sometimes Floyd and Martin turn off their trackers for dumb reasons. So we figure they hit a bar after a scouting mission for beer and a bitch or two. They do that out of habit."

Crossing her arms, her muscles defined from the hours of training she did to keep ready. Abby Saw had turned 60 this year, had two daughters and one son killed by a vampire and leaving behind Mason, who she had raised herself. Her clan all together round out about 60 members in all, all trained in the hunters' life in one way or other from near birth.

"Call Zelda and have her bring her oldest and Dick, I'll call Elijah and have him grab the twins. Tell em to be ready to head out in 12 hours or less." Abby order, not leaving any question in her voice to Mason. "Tell to be armed also, this is not a scouting mission. "

"Where going Hunting?" Mason blinked, not sure if this was a good thing. "We just got done and back from on grandma."

Her hand slammed on the table, making it shake and silencing the man. "This is not a job you pick and choose boy! Hunting is our life and we must be ready to always defend the good Lord's people from those creatures!"

Nodding the man made his way out of the kitchen, shaken a little by the captive rage of the older woman.

Abby signed, leaning into the chair. Some of this younger generation took this life as if it was a picnic in the park. None of them had seen the darker things as she had and her late hubsen Perry. Stange, not a supernatural that had taken him from her, cancer had. He had been gone nearly ten years now next week.

"I'll get reneger on whoever touched a member of my clan," Abby swears, looking out the window as the sun lay setting.

Conner looked, the clock face showed it after 3 in the morning, Much of the pack had taken to bed in leaving him, Brier, Nolan, and Rachal to talk and work out something with other ideas the pack had spoken off. If was the Saw family, the same one who had taken his family. Well, the shit was going to hit the fan.

"We can't do much more till we hear from the others of the town." Nolan yawned, pushing back his blond locks and glaring at his empty beer. "I say we turn in for now and come back all pushy tailed and bright-eyed."

Brier nodded, taking a long gulp of her very warm Bush beer. "Warlock is right, we can't do much more till than. Least we got some of a plan to work with and tell the others."

Leaning back, Conner MckCreed looked and yawned. "Agreed. Nolan, think I'll just crash at your place."

"No"

Brier stopped any more talking, "Both of you are staying here tonight. Its way to late to drive home, and we have been drinking on top of things. Trust me, we got the room for a few more in this house. "

"Waiiittt..."

"Agreed! Thanks, Luna Brier!" Nolan quickly shut up any fight from Conner with a grin.

Rachal slipped a smile as she turned in grabbing a few empty bottles in standing up. The warlock was making a move to make Conner stay with a wolf pack in his own slippy ways it would seem. Just now what would the man do? It would look bad to turn a Luna on the spot, and wolves were high on manners if anything!

His mouth went dry, glaring a bit at the blond man who was looking out the window. So Nolan was playing his hand a little huh? Conner hated to be put in a corner and both not only had the so-called best friend do that, Brier had jumped right on! It would look just bad on him, as a wolf to turn her down. So he had man up on this one, or wolf up?

"Ok Brier, I thank you for the inveyions to stay in your pack's home." Conner smiled, keeping his voice calm and friendly.

Innerly, Brier was doing backflips that he had agreed. This was the opening she needed to really talk to the man and get to know him even more. All of them cleaned up a bit as Rachal went to show Nolan his room and Breier to Conner. It was a small homey room, two windows facing the forest and open to let the fresh air in. A simple twin on an old metal frame that had been cleaned up to shine a dull gold reflection in the light of the lamp. The blankets where a deep green with matching sheets and had been hung outside to dry in the sunlight a few days before. Everything about the room smelled of fresh air and felt homey to anyone who would stay in the room.

Conner picked up small scents of the pack, thankfully not as strong to make his inner wolf uneasy. The strange part was how calm he was personally feeling in being around his own kind again. Just sitting on the bed and feeling it deep in from the springs brought back a whim of home a little in his mind.

Brier sat next to him, his left thigh touch her's, feeling his heat making with her own brought on a shudder to her spin. Conner's mixed scent of forest and a linger of wolf filled the room to mix with her own, driving out any scents of the pack to her nose. He doesn't pull away, his hands in his lap, his deep blue eyes looking out the window, the moon casting out her web of shadows.

"I'm sorry to put you on the spot Conner..." all she could say, feeling she had done something wrong.

He shook his head, smiling softly. "It's ok, your doing your job as a Luna but also as our friend. No worries Brier. Or should I call you Luna from now on?"

Choking a little on the air, Brier leaned forward a bit. Flushing out a simple strong "NO!"

He laughed, rubbing her upper back a little in helping her breath in her flustered a little. "I'm joking Brier! I forgot how much wolves tend to lean on the drama side of things."

She shot him a look under her eyes lashes, seeing his smile and joking was a little different from the man before. So this was Conner, already showing different sides of this man, even his sense of humor was blooming around them, well around her. Even the way his eyes crinkled, the deep blue of his eyes shining in framed black lashes, his voice reaching some deep place in her, her wolf happy to see him like this.

Brier felt something in her stirring, more and more as she had met this lone wolf, those small interactions they had. A pull she could not name, not knowing if it was her or wanting something more. Part of her could make sense of it now, he was a wolf, even unshifted in her eyes.

What happened was not planned, at all! Brier leaned over, pushing the man back in his surprise as her body leaned into his chest and finding her lips to capture his. Conner was in shock, her chest pushed to him, the weight of her curved frame blanked his body as her tongue flicked over his lips, asking to come in. He only reacted, growling a little in his chest, as his hands and arms found themselves tracing her hips and lower back, pushing back with his mouth in the opening and letting her tongue slip in.

Both their wolves, happy in their souls of the events, while the moon rose and seemed brighter for that moment.

Notes: Ok I got it done! Yes it is a bit of a slow chapter, but I did want to bring in the Saw Clan a bit more before things hit the fan so to say. And we got some action with Conner and Brier at all! Now what to do with Nolan and Rachal?
