Nobody's P.O.V
Phil arrived to the hospital, and walked into the office. It smelled of hand sanitizer. Phil walked up to the front desk, and a nurse greeted him politely.
"Is Daniel Howell here?" Phil asks impatiently. "Calm down, sir. I'm pretty sure he's in..." She begins typing onto the keyboard. "He's in surgery right now. You have to wait in the waiting room until we have any information.
Phil wanted to scream at the nurse, telling her to let him in the O.R, but he didn't. He took in a deep breath, and closed his eyes. "What floor exactly?" Phil says a bit rudely. "Fourth flour, have a nice day, sir." She says, looking back down at the monitor in front of her.
Phil sighed, and walked over to the elevator. He pressed the button, and the elevator lifted him up onto the floor he wanted. He walked out, walking into the waiting room. He walked up to another desk, but this time, there was a male nurse.
"Daniel Howell?" Phil asks for the last time. "He's in surgery, he should be out in about two hours. Have a seat until we have further information." Phil nodded and walked away. "Oh, and, what are you to him?" The nurse asks. "We're really good friends. I'm the only thing he has to family. Please, don't let that change anything." The nurse nodded, and typed into the computer.
Phil walked over to a seat, and sat down. Phil looked down, and finally, the world hit him all at once. Dan was in the hospital, his dad killed himself, his mother is traumatized along with his brother... He was starting to feel broken.
As Phil's thoughts circled through his head, a tear rolled down his cheek. He has tried so hard to be strong, but he can't anymore. Phil sobbed into his hands silently having nobody there to comfort him.
After crying for a few minutes, a movie appeared on a TV not too far from him. What a coincidence, Shrek appeared on the screen. The movie that Dan and Phil watched yesterday. Phil sighed sadly, and looked over at the screen, remembering the good times they had together in the matter of a few days.
*Three hours later*
"Is anyone here for Daniel Howell?" Phil shot up from his seat, and rushed over to the nurse. "Y-yes, I am." The nurse smiled and brought him over to the room Dan was in. They stood outside the door of Dan's room. There was a small window where you can see inside the room. Dan was laying down with his eyes closed.
The nurse opened up the door, and Dan still had his eyes closed. "I'll give you two some privacy." The nurse walks out the room, and shuts the door. Phil sat down in a chair next to the bed, and looked at a sleeping Dan. He was relieved that the surgery went well.
He looked over at Dan's shoulder, seeing that it was wrapped up. Phil grabbed Dan's hand and squeezed it tightly. He looked down at Dan, trying to see if he got a reaction, but nothing. Phil began to cry silently.
"I know you probably can't hear me... but what you did today was amazing. I thank you so much for that. Everything is my fault. None of that wouldn't have happened if I had just said yes to moving in with my dad. Instead, I was being selfish, and k-killed himself." Phil stuttered slightly. Phil broke down into sobs, and tried to only focus on one thing. All he wanted to do was be with Dan to comfort him.
"I'm so sorry, Dan." Phil cries, hoping that Dan would hear him, or at least say something. Their fingers still being intertwinded, Phil didn't want to let go.
Phil felt Dan squeeze his hand, and he jumped up. Dan opened his eyes and smiled at him. Phil let go of Dan's hand and jumped up in the air. He was so happy that Dan was awake. Dan started to giggle.
"I-I heard." Phil sighed, and sat back down. "I'm really sorry, Dan." Dan looked at Phil with a sympathetic smile. Dan grabbed Phil's hand trying to comfort him. "I-I wanted t-to help." Phil smiled, and looked back down. "He's dead, Dan." Dan looked at Phil with a confused look on his face.
