NOBODY'S P.O.V

It was cold, and the wind blew into Ben's face. The little boy walked over to a young lady who was sitting on a bench. She held her phone up to her ear, and giggled as someone had sad a joke.

"Excuse me, Miss." Ben said, tugging on her pants. "Hey there. What are you doing alone out here?" She said looking down at the boy. She pulled her phone away from her ear, covering the mic.

"My brother's boyfriend is gone, and we can't find him." Ben said in a sweet little innocent tone. He reached into his pocket, and took out one of Dan's wristbands. "He left this at my house yesterday."

The girl took it into her hands, and examined it carefully. She gave the wristband back to Ben. "I'm sorry. I don't know who he is. Where are your parents?" She said, looking down.

"I walked away from them so I can find Dan. Last time I was in trouble, he helped me. Now it's my turn to help him." Ben said smiling at the girl. "What's your name?" He asked, climbing up on the cold bench.

"Cat." She said looking at Ben. "Cat, do you know Dan?" Ben said resting his head on her arm. "Let me call you back later, Peej. Someone is asking me about a lost kid, and I wanna help." Cat said, hanging up the phone.

"Well, what does Dan look like?" She said examining the boy's features. She crossed her hands in her lap, and listened to Ben.

"Well, he's really tall. He has brown her, and brown eyes. My brother says that his dimples are cute when he smiles. He wears black a lot, and he doesn't talk." Cat's jaw dropped.

"Does he know Phil?" She said, beginning to panic. Ben nodded his head, and furrowed his eyebrows. "Phil is my big brother." She looked down at Ben, and had no words to say. She quickly unlocked her phone, and dialed Phil's number.

"What's your name?" She asked. "Ben." She nodded her head, and waited for Phil to answer.

"Hello?" He croaked out from the other line.

"Hey, umm. Ben came up to me asking about Dan." Cat said looking at the grinning boy. Wait- where are you?" Phil said, sounding like he was panicking. "I'm in front of the bus stop." Cat said looking around her.

"Okay, I'm coming, don't move anywhere." Phil hung up the phone, and Cat placed her phone down. "I know Dan. I don't know where he is though. I'll look for him. For now, we have to wait here." She tried to make an excuse to stay at the bench.

Ben nodded his head, and fiddled with the wristband. A few minutes passed by, and it was getting colder by the second. Ben felt his lips chap up, and his nose burn from the thin air. Snowflakes fell from the sky. Cars passed as they tried to get to their destination.

"I think his dad took him." Ben said, looking down at the hem of his sleeves. "Why's that?" Cat said looking at Ben. "Because his dad hurts him a lot. I heard him telling Phil." The little boy said without thinking. "I thought his dad was put in jail-" Cat was cut off by a car zooming in front of them.

Phil hopped out of the car, and looked at Ben. "Oh thank God." Phil said running over to Ben and hugging him tightly. "Don't do that to me ever again Ben. Don't ever walk away from me. I looked everywhere for you." Phil said sniffling.

"But Phil-" Ben said before being cut off. "No but's. I'm taking you home. Cat, need a ride?" Cat nodded her head, and walked over to the car. Phil picked up Ben, and walked over to the car. He opened the back door, and put Ben in his car seat. Cat opened up the passenger door, and sat down, putting on her seat belt.

Phil walked over to the other side of the car, and sat in the driver's seat. "Why didn't you tell me about Dan?" She said, looking over at Phil like he had just stabbed her in the leg. "Cause it only happened hours ago." He said starting the engine.
