The Day That Changed My Life

First Day of High School

I just woke up to my stupid alarm going off. I lazily reached over to it and turned it off and got out of bed. I grabbed some clothes from my closet and and went to my bathroom to get ready. I put on a black tshirt, jeans, converse and black jacket. I can't explain how nervous I am...I want to go, but then again I don't because I don't want anything bad to happen. But I had no choice, I had to! I grabbed my backpack and phone and headed out of the house. School started at 8:15 and it was 8:00 when I left the house. I saw a few kids also walking but I just ignored them, I then got there and headed to homeroom. I sat near the back, close to a girl with black hair, dark jeans and tshirt, a guy with brown hair and glasses...and next to a brunette with jeans, a blue sweatshirt and converse. She actually said hi to me. So I just smiled and said "hi" back. The bell then rang not to long after I had sat down. "Hello Class! I am Mr. Johnson! I am your homeroom and Science teacher!" He said while writing his name on the board. "Now to learn everyone's name, we will go around the room and say our names..." he said. When he got to me, I quietly said "Aubrey" then continued to listen to everyone else. I didn't really listen to everyone though because it took forever since there was so many people, plus I wouldn't remember them anyway. After awhile of Mr. Johnson talking, the bell finally rang so we went to our next class. The next few classes flew by and it was now lunch time. I felt really weird, I could feel people looking at me but I tried to ignore them. I went through the lunch line and turned around to go find a seat. I felt overwhelmed, there were so many tables and so many people. I didn't wanna sit by anyone, I mean I would but I didn't know them so I looked for a empty table with no one or only a couple people at it. "Hey, u can sit here with me if u want," I heard a voice say from behind me. I turned around to see the girl that said hi to me in homeroom. "Thanks, I didn't think I would ever find somewhere to sit!" I said while sitting down. She smiled then said, "My name's Katie." "I'm Aubrey," I said with a smile. After lunch, it was pretty boring but it wasn't bad. It was know 9th hour and it was study hall. We actually had homework on the first day, but I wasn't planning on doing it till later at home, so I just sat in study hall basically the whole time...people were laughing and passing notes and it was like the teacher didn't even care. The bell then rang! I actually made it through the day! I then walked out of of the classroom and went to the Front Office to get my locker assigned since I didn't do it this morning. As I turned around to go find my locker, I heard a shriek, I ran into someone. My books were then all over over the floor. "Oh I'm so sorry," I said. "U better watch where your going!" She said. I couldn't say anything I just nodded and went to pick my books up. I heard laughing... but I just continued to pick up my books, I then looked over to see Katie helping me. "Here," she said while handing me some books. "oh thanks," I said. "That was Amber, the popular one...she thinks she's perfect cuz her dad is rich and her boyfriend is the star football player here," Katie said. "Oh, yah..I can already tell she's stuck up," I said. "yah," Katie said with a smile. "So, where do u live?" Katie asked. "Not too far,5 min walking, just over there," I said while motioning to to the left. "Oh cool me too, we can walk together," she said. We then walked and then reached my house so I said bye and pulled out my key so I could get in, although it was already unlocked so I didn't really need it. "Hey sweetie, how was your day?" My mom asked. "It was good I guess," I said while heading up to my room. "Good! we're gonna go out and eat tonight so be ready at 6," she said while smiling. "Okay," I responded. I then went to my room like I usually do and listened to music, and then got ready to go. "Aubrey come on!" I heard my dad yell. "Okay I'll be right down!" I yelled back. I then went downstairs so we could leave. We all then got in the car...me and Max had no idea where we were going though. And I could tell my parents weren't in a good mood (like usual!) so I didn't bother asking.
