Jimin's POV:

We stand dumbly in the doorway not knowing what to do, watching as Namjoon crouched over the trapdoor. In the bright lighting of the living room the scene looks almost disconnected from reality, as though I'm looking through a camera lens. Joon-Hyung leans up close talking to Eunmi through the door, his face is twisted with concern. His voice steady and somehow hiding the nerves as he comforts her. I feel so useless like this, with no clue towards what I should be doing to help. Everyone else in the room is frozen like us, not making a single move.  Not even drawing a breath. Suddenly a loud voice shatters the imaginary screen.

"What are we doing just standing here!! Move!" Thank god Yoongi is in control of himself, otherwise we might have been standing here all night. With that he pulls his phone out of a pocket and starts to dial.  For a moment no one else moves, waiting silently as he makes the call.

"I require the police at 771 Yeoksam 2(i)-dong, Gangnam-gu, Seoul. My friend has been attacked and is locked in a basement."

"Ok we will be there within half an hour, try to keep them calm. Do you know if they have any injuries?" I can only just hear the tinny sound of the operator's voice through the speaker from where I stand.

"Yes, I'm not sure what though. She also has had some medical issues before this." I marvel as somehow he manages to stay calm and logical despite the situation. But knowing him Yoongi is just as scared as us, only he's better at hiding it.

"Noted. We will send an ambulance as well. Contact us again if the situation changes." The call is brief, and soon again we are left in total silence.

"Where are the keys?" Jin is the next to speak, an almost growl emitted from the usually sweet hyung. His eyes are focused upon the trap door.

At first there is no reply, only guilty looks directed at the floor. With the lack of response Hoseok steps up beside him, sending a glare across the room. Finally a shaken looking, staff member answers, telling us that Mr Kwan had left with the keys over an hour ago. Those last words send a sharp spike of anger through me, she had been left down there knowingly and they had not done a thing. When we had gotten here I had thought that this was the immediate aftermath. That Mr Kwan had only just walked out. But to find out that it was over and hour ago leaves me speechless.

"YOU MEAN THAT SHE HAS BEEN DOWN THERE SINCE OVER AN HOUR AGO??! AND YOU JUST SAT THERE???" Taehyung's face suddenly turns dark as he shouts the thoughts that run through my mind. His terrifying fury fuels my own finally completely snapping me out of the half stupor.

"YOU LEFT HER THERE, KNOWING HER  MEDICAL HISTORY. YOU ARE PUTTING HER LIFE IN DANGER. EVEN IF THAT WEREN'T TRUE YOU LEFT HER ALONE TRAPPED IN THE DARK!! SHE SHOULDN'T HAVE HAD TO TURN TO US FOR HELP!! HOW DARE YOU SAY THAT YOU CARE ABOUT HER!!! YOU CHOSE YOUR JOB OVER HER LIFE!!!" In my rant I barely even notice as Jin and Hobi leave the room towards the front door no doubt in pursuit of the key. Out of the corner of my eye I catch Suga looking almost longingly after them, with a wrath burning deep in his eyes.

Taking a deep breath I calm myself, yelling at these idiots won't help her. I hear a quiet sniffle behind me, turning I see Jungkook. His worry show the most out of all of us, he has never been able to keep a straight face when people are having a hard time. There are tears in the corners of his eyes, but even as I turn to watch him he wipes them away, steeling himself. Stepping forward he looks to the staff and the rest of Refract and asks them to describe exactly what happened. The story they tell is terrible, how they were made to dance for so long without rest and when she inevitably couldn't continue she was punished. They are just getting to the end when something catches my attention.

"Flooded?" As it turns out they had failed to mention that the basement was flooded.

What. The. Hell. Is. Wrong. With. Them.

This re-ignites the flame inside of me, my outrage is about to spin out of control again. But before I can do anything, a soft voice dissipates the feeling, replacing it with another. Fear.

"Eunmi, can you hear me? Eunmi, answer me. Eunmi!" With each call Namjoon's voice gets louder, more urgent. The distress on his face is now clear to see, nothing is holding back his emotion.

The room loses all sound as again everyone holds their breath, waiting, hoping for an answer. We stay like this for what seems like an eternity but none comes. Not even a single word. Like when we first got here Namjoon beings wrestling with the door, tugging at the lock and pounding his fists against it trying with all his might to free her. But like earlier it does not even budge. Still he continues. In each person there you can almost feel something break.

"Stop." I now crouch by his side, my hands on his shoulders. The most that he can achieve by doing this is to hurt himself.

We would have stayed like this forever if it were not for the doorbell ringing. Yoongi practically runs to the door relief flooding his features, and returns in less than a minute with a pair of policemen and two paramedics behind him. They don't hesitate to gently pull us away from the trap door so that they can examine the lock. All the while the paramedics are quizzing us on what happened. After a few minutes the policeman at the trap door looks up and instructs the other to get the bolt cutters. Just as she goes to leave she is bowled over by two people running into the room.

"We have the key!!" Hoseok's shouts, out of breath.

It's when I look up that I see the blood from Jin's split lower lip. It looks like they had found Mr Kwan after all. Now that they have access to the key everything moves at a lighting pace, the urgency of the situation showing through. Within a second the door is opened and a light is shone down the stairs.

At first I couldn't see her, but as the policeman in charge made their way further down with the torch she came into view. Her body was sprawled out over the base of the staircase, from the waist down she was submerged in dark water. She wasn't moving. The paramedics head down, and try to wake her. But there is no reaction. As they bring her into the light I can see the damp pallor of her skin, it's as though all her colour has bled out. Eunmi is limp in their arms, the rise and fall of her chest almost non-existent. Seeing her in this way makes the situation real, what if she doesn't wake up. It gets hard to breathe, panic is setting in. I watch as they waste no time getting her into the ambulance. Following them I am just as numb as I was when we first go her text. But as they close the door of the ambulance behind them, I realise that this is out of our hands now. All we can do is hope.

Author's note:

Okay so there's another chapter done. I sorry about the ridiculous amount of dialogue, it got kinda out of hand. Buuutt I can't be bothered re-writing it. It took me ages to write because I was listening to the HIXTAPE!!! And... I kept forgetting that I was meant to be writing. 😁

Anyway this time I want to continue withe the theme of K-pop questions and ask what is your current favourite K-pop song?

So this changes allll the time for me but currently I'd have to say either  Diphylleia Grayi by Jonghyun, The Last by Agust D or Sorry by The Rose, depressing I know... But on the other hand I absolutely love Lip and Hip by HyunA and Gashina by Sunmi. If you haven't heard of any of these I would really recommend looking them up.

Anyway see you next week, I can't wait to hear about your fave songs (maybe I'll find a new one)
