Hoseok's POV:
It's been two weeks and I still can't believe that the Ari is in our house! She so quickly turned from someone that I idolised and held on a pedestal like an untouchable god to a close friend. Even then sometimes I still see her that way. It shows every now and then when I accidentally use her stage name. And though they didn't really know her before that fateful performance I think that to some extent that the others are affected as well. She just has this incredible presence that enamours you, it's impossible to ignore. For the first weeks or so it was obvious, everyone was rushing around trying to please her (I'm guilty too). If she said that she was thirsty, suddenly she would be faced with seven glasses of water. Or if she looked to be cold in an instant she would be buried under a mountain of blankets and hoodies. It was pretty funny tbh. Anyway... stop sitting around and thinking J-hope you have things to do!Mentally slapping myself into action I get up and head down to the kitchen. I stand frowning at the full fridge, why is there never anything to eat?? With a sigh I settle on having a cheese sandwich. Grabbing the ingredients I head over the the bench and slap it together before taking a seat and tucking in. About three bites in a crash catches my attention.A massive stuffed animal lies across the doorway with surrounded by pots and pans. Suddenly it starts to move, a hand pokes out from beneath it. Quickly I rush over and help to lift it up.
"Ari?!"
"Hey... What are the pots doing there?" A smile crosses my face as I remember Jin's antics late last night. I mean sure Tae was being kinda annoying, but barricading the kitchen with cooking implements was a bit much.
"Umm, Jin happened... What's with the bear? That thing is huge." It towers over both of us, seriously, if you hollowed it out you could fit at least three and a half Yoongis inside.
"I think some fans left it. I was going to leave it in Jimin-oppa's closet so that when he opens it the bear falls out. Jungkook is distracting him. Wanna help?" An evil grin spreads over her lips. She looks like playful kitten about to cause trouble.
"Sure, I'll lead the way!"
About five minutes later the deed is done and we have safely left the scene of the crime. No longer hidden by the bear I see that Ari is wearing a fairy floss coloured hoodie at least six sizes too big. Probably Jin's. Over the time that she's been here it has become a bit of a running joke to see how much of our clothing she can wear in public without ARMY noticing. So far they don't even know that she's living with us. Honestly I'm surprised that there haven't been any weird rumours yet.
Unfortunately now that I've eaten and the bear is stowed away I had better get some work done and get to the dance studio. I have to get this choreography finished by the end of the week and I've hardly started. I turn to say goodbye to Ari when an idea lights up a bulb.
"Hey Eunmi... You're not doing anything now are you?"
"Uhh nooo, why?"
"I expect payment for helping you and you can pay it off now. Come with me!"
I grab her hand and drag her towards the door and into a taxi. A little while later we are outside the building with the studio. Still pulling her along I run inside and up the stairs, only stopping when we arrive at our destination. Finally letting go I look at her again.
"You're going to dance with me." I can barely contain my excitement. I was going to see the Ari dance for me off stage up close!!!! AND I WAS GOING TO DANCE WITH HER!!!!!
At the dorm I had just wanted to see her do some of the dances that she knows, but on the way her I had another genius idea- She could dance to my choreography so that I knew what it looked like! Maybe later I could also convince her to learn a new dance with me, one that we could possibly perform together at some point. But first things first. Time to warm up. While I'm stretching and loosening up I can't help but watch her. The way she bends is mesmerising and for the first time since she came to stay with us I can see a hint of her otherworldly side. I can tell why she was cast in that role.
All warmed up, I set up the cameras to record the session and then we begin. At first we are fairly serious and I actually get the choreo for my song almost completely done. It's a very different method from how I usually work but it's so effective. Watching someone else do the dance lets you see it from angle, it makes it so much easier to pick up mistakes and make changes. But the work doesn't last long before we get distracted and start mucking around. Deciding that we've done enough for the day, it's time for her to pay up. So with a smile I change the music.
"Hey Ari, I've I've always wanted to see you do this up close. Please dance for me." I put on the puppy eyes and add a bit of aegyo for good measure.
My tactics succeed and she gets into position. The music begins to fill the room and her previously frozen pose melts away into the dance. I have watched this particular dance so many times, both live and on a screen, it always takes my breath away, but I have never seen it like this. And it's now that I see the true extent of her talent. She moves like water, flowing from step to step. Each part is seamlessly integrated into the whole. When she leaps it's as though she can fly, and each of these steps never falter. Every movement is effortless and perfect. The other times that I have seen it hid so much, they didn't do it justice at all, the fine points of the dance that I had previously not noticed are now right before my eyes. And I know this sounds clichéd but seeing her like this I can truly believe that she isn't human. Both Jimin and I have tried time after time to learn this dance but failed to ever achieve a level that we were happy with (he had more success than I as his ballet training came in handy). And now I can see why, her dancing is at entirely new, unreachable level. Finally the music stops and I breathe again.
I am so taking her with me every time I dance from now on.
AUTHOR'S NOTE:
I don't really have anything to say this week so straight into the question:What is something that takes your breath away?
For me, like Hoseok in my story, it's a talented dancer. I find it so impressive how they move and really admire the level of work that they have to put in to get to an incredible level. I can't dance at all myself but would love to be able to.
Anyway, until next week, please comment an vote !! 😘😘
