i hear a knock on the door, making me rush around and find all the last minute items i need before heading out to this party. my heels click when i hit the tiles at the end of the stairs hurrying over to answer the door. i smooth my dress out once more time before turning the knob on my front door. i look up to see johnny wearing a nice pair of jeans, pairing it with a button up.
"hi." i show off my awarding winning smile, i must say.
"kenzie, you look amazing." same goes to you. holy he looked amazing. his emerald green eyes sparkle, his plump lips slightly parted, looking me up and down. "do you want to head off now?" he snaps me out of my thoughts.
"sure," i smile again. "i'm going maddie! see you there!" i shut the door before she could reply to my statement. i turn around after closing the door, to look up to johnny's eyes again. i smile before he leads me to his car
-
we sit in the car in a comfortable silence looking at our surroundings. typical me i'm the one to break that comfortable silence. "so, is your mystery girl coming to this party?" i wait for an answer, trying not to show my jealous side. i continue to fake smile.
"y-yeah." he stutters out. why is he so awkward about this 'mystery girl'? come on, john, i'm your best friend.
"can i meet her?" i say, curiously.
"sure," he stutters, once again. "she's quite shy." bullshit, johnny orlando.
-
we park outside the party house, johnny putting the car in park. we both open our doors and proceed to get out, shutting our doors. johnny pushes a button on the keys, making all the car doors lock. "ready!" i excitedly say. i love parties if you can't tell already.
"let's go." he chuckles. i grab his wrist before he could take any steps forward.
"wait, we can't forget our pre-party hug." i frown. he chuckles once more, enveloping me in a warm hug. can't we stay like this forever? ditch this party?
he breaks the hug, smiling at me. "okay, if we split ways, back at the car by 12?" i nod, giving him a cheeky smile.
-
we are only halfway through the party and i've already lost johnny somewhere in the crowd. i'm currently dancing on the dance floor with a guy i don't know. like i said this is the biggest party of the year and i'm making the most of it. i must say i have had a couple drinks by now and i'm a little bit tipsy.
a hand pulls me on to the couch, colliding me onto a stranger's lap. i must admit, he was cute. "hey hottie!" i slur. he gives me a smirk. "your cute." i straddle his lap. our faces inched closer, him closing the gap between our lips. our lips move in sync, except he was the worst guy i've ever kissed in my lifetime. he was sloppy and kept his hands by his side.
i broke the kiss and looked at him in disgust. i look over to see johnny looking at me with disappointment written all over his face. i look at his face, i'm disappointed in myself. "johnny! wait!" i push myself off the stranger, hitting his chest. i push myself through the crowd, following johnny's footsteps.
he runs out the front door, following him right behind, nearly stepping on his shoes. "john." i grab his shoulder turning him around.
"what." he says, his jaw clenched.
"what's the matter?" i ask, worrying.
"can't you see what's wrong, mackenzie!" he shouts. he never calls me mackenzie. i step backward, taking a deep breath in. "i thought we were here together, not for you to go off and hook up with some stranger." he says hurt.
"i'm sorry." i whisper, putting my head down.
"whatever." he mutters. "get maddie to take you home." he turns around walking towards his car. i stand in embarrassment, a single tear falling out of my eye.
"told you, you were blind." i turn around to see maddie with her arms crossed.
it all makes sense,
i am johnny orlando's crush.
