"hey maddie," i smile as i walk into her room. she replies with a simple 'hi'. "are you going to carson's party this weekend?" i ask, sitting down on her soft bed.
"i don't know probably," she shrugs. "what about you?" she looks up from her book that she is reading.
"johnny's taking me." i smile, as a blush creeps up onto my cheeks.
"oooh! kenzie has a crush!" maddie squeals. "is this johnny manning up and asking you out!" she says, excitedly.
"no," i physically facepalm. "one i was going to go with brynn anyways, so he just offered to take me and two he's my best friend!" maddie laughs and shakes her head. "what! it's true!" i shout.
"kenz, get it through you head," she grabs my face and squishes it together. "he likes you and is practically asking you to go out on a date." she releases her hands from my face.
"well it's not a very good date." i chuckle. "do you actually think he likes me?" i question her.
"your obviously blind kenzie! of course, he does!" she says. i scrunch my face together in confusion.
"why?"
"mackenzie, he adores you," she says seriously. i look at her. woah, okay she's serious. i look down at the floor, thinking about a plan.
"i'm going to go text lauren," i jump up off the bed. "thanks, maddie!" i shout before exiting her room. i jump onto my bed, snatching my phone off the charger, unlocking it with my password. i pull open the contact; lolo orlando.
