College Dropout

For anyone who has ever went to college they know that it will be harder than high school. No one tells you exactly how much harder. In high school you have teachers who will remind you of assignments. But in college the professor usually gives you a paper on the first day of class with your assignments on them.

The professor will never once remind you of anything on that paper. They tell you it's your responsibility to remember the things. When the day comes that something is due they won't even say to turn in your assignment.

For me this was the worst thing ever because sometimes I would do an assignment but then forget to take it to class the day it's due. I would forget when tests were and therefore show up to class without studying first.

I had to withdraw from classes multiple times so that I didn't start failing.

Now one thing that your advisor doesn't tell you about is that withdrawing can cause other problems. I didn't know those classes counted in your completion rate. Nor did I know that your completion rate could make you lose your financial aid. So now I'm in the boat of being a college dropout.

This could just be the college that I go to but they never inform you of anything. I truly miss high school and how helpful all the staff members were.

I'm hoping to get into a different college for fall. I read your completion rate starts over when going to a new school. If that is true then I should be able to get financial aid at the new college. Since I'm smarter now about college staff not being helpful I will already know about things that I should be aware of. I also plan to stay on top of things so that I can make something out of myself.

I really hope I don't have to become a college dropout. Even though Jared Evan has a song about how he is a college dropout. Being a dropout could bring on bigger and better things for some people. But for me I think that it will make me just struggle and not go anywhere in life.
