He wasn’t sure why but he had been surprised to realise just how warm Sorano was, her arms tight around him as he fought to calm his breathing. The flashback had come out of nowhere, but suddenly it had been like the last few years had never happened and he’d still been trapped in the Tower…he had known it wasn’t real but he hadn’t been able to pull himself out of the memory, until her arms had crept around him and she had pulled his head down so that it was buried against her neck. She was warm and real, the sound of her breathing soft against his ear and he seized hold of her presence to ground himself back in the presence. Her warmth was something that he had never experienced in the Tower, and there were tears on his as he wondered how much more bearable it might have been if he had known that she was this warm back then.
