Juvia always thought that she had got the best of second chances…she had Fairy Tail and nakama who didn’t care that she was a Rain woman or about her past with Phantom Lord, and she didn’t think that she had the right to ask for anymore. That was why she was so hesitant to believe it when she and Lucy began to grow closer, that first Unison Raid washing away whatever tension might have existed after what she had done to the Celestial mage. She found herself spending her days watching the blonde, daydreaming about what it might be like to be something more than friends, not allowing herself to see the way that brown eyes were watching her back. In the end it had been Lucy who had closed the distance between them, pushing her way into the Water mage’s life, and in a soft voice giving her eight words that made her think that maybe just maybe she wasn’t out of chances.
