"Where are you going?" Harry sat up straight in his chair at the dining room table and looked at his husband who had grabbed his bag from the hook. "I thought you didn't have to work today." He pressed again, shutting the textbook he was revising from.

"Got called in. Mrs. Garcia thinks she's gone into labour. Can't miss that now, can I?" Louis chuckled and pressed a kiss on the top of Harry's head, "I'll be home as soon as I can, okay? Hopefully her little Matuesz makes an appearance pretty quick." Louis brushed back a few strands of Harry's hair when he heard him sigh. "Hey." Louis brought his hand up to Harry's chin to have Harry meet his eyes.

"Just go, Louis. I don't wanna do this right now." Harry pulled his face away and then opened his textbook again, just skimming over the words until he felt Louis walk away and grab his keys to leave.

Harry and Louis lived in a very small, one bedroom, and one bathroom apartment. Their kitchen table was placed between the kitchen and their living room about two feet from the back of their couch. With louis being the only one working and Harry in university, it was really all they could afford. Harry's always had a problem with Louis working the hours he worked. He wanted time with his husband like he had had before people had realised that he was really good at what he did.

Harry made lasagna for dinner, reading and rereading his notes as he did so. His exams were coming up and there was no way he could afford to retake this class. He sat at the dining table alone and ate, spinning his wedding band around his finger. This isn't how he wanted his marriage to be. He looked at the chair beside him and sighed, as louis' body wasn't there.

He loved his husband. He loved that he was good at what he was doing. He was appreciative that Louis worked and allowed him to finish up getting his degree. You'll be a good lawyer, honey. Louis would tell him from where Louis sat in bed, his glasses would be perched high on his nose and he would be flipping through pages of the latest novel he would be reading. Harry would always smile, because Louis admired him. He admired Louis. He'd do anything for him and Louis would do the same. The two were made for each other.

Harry looked at the time as he pushed around the lasagna noodles on his plate. Louis had been gone since 2pm and it was close to 8pm. He scraped his plate into the rubbish and slugged through his room. He pulled off his shirt and switched his jeans into a pair of trackies that Louis had bought him for Valentine's Day and he slid under the duvet.

-

Louis let himself into the house close to midnight, knowing Harry may be in bed by that time. He kicked off his shoes and hung up his jacket, throwing his bag next to the bench by the door just as he had every night after work. He started unbuttoning his shirt as he walked through the kitchen. He dropped it in the hamper Harry had been meaning to wash for the last three days and did the same with his socks. He made his way back to their bedroom and sighed when he saw Harry in bed. Louis changed into a pair of shorts and crawled in behind him, carefully taking the hair tie out of Harry's hair, knowing he'd wake up with a headache if he continued to sleep with his hair up. "Lou?" Harry's voice was soft and his eyebrows knitted together in sleepy confusion, but he continued to keep his eyes closed.

"Mhm. Go back to sleep, my love." Louis whispered and pressed a kiss against Harry's forehead. He pulled the blanket up over himself and wrapped an arm around Harry's middle.

"Was the baby okay?" Harry pushed his backside back towards Louis, adjusting his sleep position.

"Mhm. He was 2.5kg, a little small, but it was to be expected. Mrs. Garcia had high blood pressure through her entire pregnancy." louis whispered and pressed a little kiss on the back of Harry's neck. "Get some sleep, darling."

"I can't." Harry turned slightly to look at Louis as Louis rubbed Harry's hip gently. "Didn't get my goodnight kiss."

Louis smiled and pressed a little kiss on Harry's lips gently, which satisfied him enough to roll back over with his back to Louis and fall asleep.

-

Harry woke up with Louis' arm still pulled around his hips and his skin was damp and sticky from the sweat. "Lou." Harry groaned softly and pushed him off some. "The air conditioner is off, why?"

"I didn't turn it off, I dunno." Louis rubbed his eyes, tiredly. Harry watched Louis as he rolled himself out of bed and went over to their bedroom window to see what was up with their AC. He smiled as the muscles in Louis' back shifted as he walked, bent over, and moved his arms. "We may need to get a new one." Louis unplugged it and glanced over at Harry, "Get over here and help me pull this out."

Harry smiled and got up, walking over to the window, "You aren't working today?" He asked as he held onto the front of the unit, so Louis could lift the window and pull it out.

"No, I'm not working today." Louis shook his head and took a deep breath as he pulled the AC unit out and took a step back, setting it on the ground. Harry nodded and pinched Louis on the bum. "Do you wanna go out and get breakfast?" Louis chuckled softly and swatted Harry's hand away.

"Yeah, sounds good to me." Harry nodded and smiled. "You look nice in those."

"They're shorts, babe. I wear them to bed every night." Louis laughed softly and moved away to pull out a pair of trackies from their shared wardrobe. "We can get a new air conditioner whilst we're out today. If we can find a cheap one."

"We can just leave the window open, it's not a big deal." Harry moved with Louis, grabbing his own pair of jeans. The two were almost always in sync with one another. Louis pulled on a t-shirt as Harry pulled on his socks and did  up his belt. He grabbed a shirt and buttoned the bottom three, leaving the others unbuttoned.

"You should wear more clothes, you know? Showing off what I've got." Louis chuckled and pulled on a matching jacket, which he zipped up partially.

"See, that's the thing." Harry chuckles softly and brushed out his hair with his fingers. "I can wear what I'd like to wear. Just because we're married doesn't mean I still can't show off a bit." He had a grin on his face and Louis rolled his eyes. "Also, It's hot and I'm not having this buttoned up to my fucking neck."

"Yeah, yeah." Louis smiled and handed Harry his bag. "You dress like you're a celebrity."

"You dress like you're 32 and lazy, so what's your point?" harry smiled as he leaned down and pressed a kiss on Louis' lips. "Let's go, yeah? We can walk the plaza."

"You mean, we can drive to the store, get the air conditioner. Then we can drive to a waffle house and have breakfast?" Louis chuckled and slipped on his trainers as Harry pulled on his boots. "We aren't spending all day just walking around the mall and trying on clothes you know we can't afford." Louis glanced at Harry and saw his eyebrows pulled tightly together.

"I didn't ask you for anything like that." Harry pushed his hand through his hair and pushed it back out of his face. "You know what? We don't even have to go out. I'm just gonna change."

"Oh hush. Let's go. You're dressed and you want to." Louis sighed quietly and turned Harry towards the door, grabbing his keys although he fully intended on giving Harry what he wanted and walking to and around the plaza, letting him look at YSL and Gucci and anywhere he wanted to.

The first part to Book Two in the N&I series! This follows the same timeline as Niall & I does, but it goes along with the lives of Harry and Louis (as y'all loved larry in N&I, which same.)

You were interested in their story and I was looking forward to creating it! So here we go!
