Harry had decided he wanted Louis to take him to get his haircut. He's been growing it out for years and he didn't know if he'd make it through the process without having a breakdown of sorts.
Louis had glanced over at Harry in the passenger's seat and chuckled, "You're okay. You don't have to do this, y'know."
"I know." Harry bit down on his thumb nail. "Someone needs my hair more than I do, I guess... I think." Harry sighed and ran a hand through his hair out of habit.
Louis reach over and squeezed Harry's thigh. "You're okay. Gonna look just as handsome as you do now."
"You won't take my hair down now." Harry pouted.
"I know, I know." Louis chuckled and just comfortingly rubbed Harry's knee. "I'll still rub your head. Don't worry, okay? Your hair length isn't going to affect anything other than carrying hair ties and taking down your hair."
"You're not making me feel better about cutting it." Harry mumbled quietly. Louis squeezed Harry's leg gently and Harry brought his hand down to link their hands together.
Louis pulled into the salon and smiled as he got out. He opened Harry's door and shut it once Harry got out. Harry watched as teenage girls and their boyfriends went in and out. He watched as mothers and their kids went in. He glanced at Louis for his support.
How could he be a lawyer if he can't even cut his hair?
"You're okay." Louis smiled and pressed his hand against Harry's lower back. Harry nodded slightly as they walked inside and checked in, waiting for the appointment slot that Louis had set up for him.
"Why didn't we go to a barber?" Harry whispered quietly.
"You used to get your haircut here." Louis flipped through magazine pages, not really looking as his glasses were in Harry's bag. "I can take you to a walk-in barber. If that's what you want."
"No, no. This is fine." Harry nodded as he bounced his leg, waiting for his name to be called. Louis reach over and grabbed Harry's hand, rubbing his thumb over the back gently.
"You're okay, H. There's no need to nervous." Louis had the magazine placed on his lap.
"You keep saying that, but it's not helping my nerves." Harry pushed a hand through his hair. "You're still gonna love me?"
"Jesus, Harry." Louis laughed and moved his hand from Harry's and brought it around his shoulders to pull him closer. "Hey. Look at me." Louis whispered into Harry's ear, rubbing Harry's shoulder with his thumb. Harry tilted his head and looked at Louis, mentally tired of worrying over something so silly. "I'm gonna love you, no matter what. You're going to be beautiful, no matter how long or short your hair is. I don't love you for your hair or how you look, although you are stunning." Louis kissed Harry's forehead, "I love you because you're such an amazing person. Nothing will change that."
"Harry Tomlinson?" Harry's head snapped up in the direction of the woman who called his name. He stood and waited on Louis to follow him.
Louis chuckled and grabbed out his phone, ready to video the entire thing. Harry sat in the chair, crossing his legs at the ankles. "Honey? You okay?" Louis asked. All of the color had been drained from Harry's face and he just nodded.
"Just wanna get this over with." Harry mumbled.
"My name's Kate." The woman smiled as she ran her fingers through Harry's hair, "your hair is gorgeous, hun. Why are you cutting it?" She asked as she let Harry look through her book of mens hairstyles.
"I'm trying to get a job." Harry said plainly, pointing at a short haircut that he thought he may look decent in. Kate smiled and nodded as she began to braid back his hair. She snapped the cape around Harry. Louis snapped a few photos and started a video, trying to stay out of Kate's way but keep his camera on Harry.
