Harry woke up with a pounding headache and his husband insanely tapping away at keys on his laptop. "Honey, I love you. But will you please stop." Harry groaned and pulled the pillow over his head.
Louis chuckled softly and sat his laptop to the side, rolling over to wrap his arm around Harry's waist, "Good morning to you too, baby." Louis pressed open mouthed kissed against Harry's shoulder. "You enjoy your party?"
"Louis. Shhh." Harry continued to lie there quietly and Louis smiled, running his hand down Harry's side.
"I brought in some Tylenol and a glass of water. S'on your night stand." Louis whispered to him, giving his thigh a bit of a squeeze.
"Thank you." Harry mumbled, pushing his husband back so he could sit up and take the medicine. "Did you let Cliff out?" Harry asked and then he swallowed the pills.
"Mhm. He's asleep on the beanbag over there." Louis motioned to the corner of their room and just pushed Harry back onto his back, sliding over him. "You know who else has been asleep all morning."
"I can take a guess." Harry chuckled and closed his eyes, moving his hands up behind his head. Louis just smiled and pressed a small kiss on Harry's forehead, nose, and then lips. "My head still hurts."
"You haven't given the Tylenol any time to kick in." Louis smiled and just dipped his head down to press small kisses against Harry's neck and he sucked a mark right below the dip of Harry's collarbones. "You know what else helps aches and pains?"
"Mhm." Harry moved one hand to Louis' hair and pushed him down where Louis just took his hint and dipped beneath their comforter with a grin.

Harry stood at the counter as he mixed the flour, salt, and pepper in a bowl and began to place the small cubes of beef into it. Harry began to heat up the oil in his Dutch oven, placing half of the beef into it. He let it brown and transferred it to a bowl, doing the same with the other half of the beef.
Louis was sat at the island, getting his paperwork in order to open his practice. "Smells good."
Harry smiled, his back still to Louis, as he added the onion, letting them soften. Once he was sure of that, he added soy sauce, Worcestershire sauce, steak sauce, garlic, thyme, and bay leaves, which he brought to a boil. "Thank you, it'll be done in a few hours." He added the beef and covered it, placing it on a low simmer.
He turned towards Louis and leaned against the island, smiling. Louis just smiled at him and glanced back at his laptop screen, "we'll get a house in no time, if I keep the clients I'm working with and get this practice opened up."
"Don't stress out about it, darling. Clifford and I are happy here. It's enough space for us."
"For us now, but if we ever wanted another dog... or a cat... maybe another baby." Louis shrugged and continued typing.
Harry just rolled his eyes and pushed off the island, moving back to the stove to start the peas, carrots, and potatoes. "When were you thinking?"
"Well, if my math is right... we can use the money we saved from you dating Niall for the pregnancy and now. Hopefully they keep the little charade up a bit longer." Louis rubbed his eyes, "and then we've got what I'm making.. so can get a nice place in London."
"You're talking about buying another apartment, aren't you?" Harry asked as he stirred in the mixture of potatoes, peas, and carrots, into the Dutch oven.
"There are really nice apartments here..."
"I want a house if we're gonna move again. I want a yard for Cliff and somewhere for the baby to play. I don't want my neighbours hearing me take it in the ass longer than I have to have them hear me."
Louis chuckled from his seat, eyes looking up to see his husband's backside. He had looser jeans, a pair of vans, and a white t-shirt on. "Alright, so an apartment is off the table." Louis leaned on one of his elbows, chin on his hand, as he just admired his baby. "We can take out a loan."
"We need to pay off that car first." Harry said quietly, "really wished you would've asked me about that first. We're gonna be paying that off for fifteen years."
"I had it handled darling. It's not custom or anything. Just have a few more payments on it."
"We're gonna end up broke, aren't we?" Harry glanced at Louis, "we can't afford this lifestyle you wanna live right now, Lou. I've been completely content with the way my life has been the past eight years. There's no reason for us to just live expensive just because our friends do."
"Harry.. I've got this handled. I said I was gonna take care of you, yeah?" Louis smiled a bit.
"I don't need to be taken care of, Louis. I just need you to love me and talk to me instead of just doing all this shit you're doing. You bought a car without asking me, you wanna take a loan out to get a new house, you buy suits for me that are so fucking expensive I get nervous wearing them, you've been considering buying another new car. Louis, we're supposed to be saving money. Not lavishly spending it." Harry explained and turned down the heat. "I can go back to work, you know? We can both get our practices up and running."
Louis just rubbed over his chin and glanced down at his clientele list. "Most of these are gonna need a good lawyer."
-
Within the next six months, Louis had opened his own medicine practice and Harry his own law practice and each were doing high bids with their famous friends and friends of friends.
They were doing good for themselves, they were saving money and paying off bills they had accumulated. They could charge more, because they were good at what they did and were in such a demanded area. Harry was getting singers out of contracts and arguing cases he never thought he'd argue.
Louis was working with families again. Which he was happy about. But he'd meant to talk to Harry about going back to school, getting a second degree in medicine. So he'd be able to perform surgeries and continue making money for the household.
Harry had glanced at their finances and wasn't upset for the first time in a long time. They were able to afford their apartment, his car payment, and maybe trade in Louis' for that new car he wanted and afford the payment after that. Soon they'd be able to buy the house they'd been looking at. With a little help from Niall and Liam, they had offered and Louis only accepted if they accepted payment back.
"Babe?" Harry and Louis both took off during weekends, able to spend the few days with one another. "There's this House I wanna look at... it's a bit pricey. Buuuut with that growing net worth of yours, I'm sure we can swing it."
"How pricey?"
"£3,650,000."
"You do understand I'm only a doctor, right?" Louis shut the bathroom door behind him, so Clifford couldn't get in and tear things to pieces.
"And you do understand I'm only a lawyer. Glad we settled that."
"We can't afford £3 million for a house. Jesus Christ, H." Louis laughed and grabbed a water bottle.
"I'm just gonna drop my career and be a singer." Harry joked and spun in his swivel chair, looking at Louis.
"You should. Pay off all our debt and buy that £3 million house you want." He laughed softly.
"Maybe I will." Harry stuck his tongue out. "I have connections."
"Get your ass onstage and make us some money then." Louis laughed, moving to wrap his arms around Harry's shoulders, kissing his head. "I'd love seeing you perform again."
"Drama class and singing in front of people are different." Harry patted Louis' arm gently and took a bite of the garlic bread in front of him. "Want a bite?"
"Mhm." Louis opened his mouth and took a bite of the bread his baby held up for him, he chewed and swallowed. "We can take a look at the place. Maybe get a loan if we can. We've almost got your car paid off."
"Sounds good to me."
