Harry hadn't been feeling well for what seemed to be weeks and Louis would catch him smiling every now and again as he made his morning cuppa. Niall was staying at theirs still and Louis wasn't sure what to do when it came to Harry. So he just made an appointment at the clinic and told H not to be late this time before he left.
Which Harry would try to not be.
"Niall?" Harry knocked on the bedroom door, a cup of tea in his hand for them both.
"Come on in!" Niall smiled and sat up in bed, careful of his stomach. It was making things harder anjd harder everyday.
Harry stepped in and handed him his tea, sitting on the edge to face him, "Can I talk to you?"
"Of course." Niall smiled softly, bringing the cup to his lips to blow slightly before he sipped it.
"I think I'm pregnant." Harry was beaming. "I've thought so for a few weeks... but Lou is convinced it's just the flu."
"Well, congratulations if you are." Niall smiled. "I know you've wanted this for quite a while."
"I have. I'm gonna see if he'll give me a test when I go in today." Harry grinned and sipped his own tea. "So if I am, he'll know too without me having to hide it and tell him."
"Well I'm sure he will. He knows you two are actively trying for a baby." Niall smiled and took a deep breath as a sharp pain hit him.
"You okay?" Harry asked.
"Yeah, I'm fine. Just a little contraction. I'm getting closer to the cesarean date."
"I know. You excited?"
"I am. I wanna meet my baby pretty badly."
-
Harry spent an hour looking for his watch which made him five minutes late for his appointment, he swore he left it in the bowl on the table the last time he wore it.
Louis was waiting at the front, laughing with Gina when Harry rolled in. "You're late again." He chuckled softly.
Harry was breathing hard, "shut up, i ran three blocks."
"Come back here." Louis noticed Harry struggling to get his air in and walked over, bracing an arm under his as he got him to the exam room. "I told you not to be running and stuff until we figure out what was up with your lungs."
"It's nothing serious." Harry sat on the exam table and closed his eyes, "woulda been late by a little more if I would've walked."
"I don't care if you're late. Your health matters more to me." Louis grabbed his stethoscope and listened to Harry's heavy breathing. Louis knew he was breathing hard enough where the sounds he was listening to should have been louder than they were. So he made a note to come back to it once their checkup was through. "Do you want some water? I have a bottle from lunch in the break room." Louis was worried. He'd never seen Harry like that in his life.
Harry just nodded and coughed slightly, his breathing finally evening out. "I would, please."
So Louis brought Harry his water bottle and waited for him to finish it off before he threw the plastic in the recycling bin and he felt behind Harry's ears and down his neck, checking for any abnormalities of his thyroids. "You been feeling okay today?"
"I forgot where I left my watch." Harry let Louis rub on his shoulders a little, knowing his first instinct was to take care of him as his husband, not just be his doctor. "I was looking for it and I lost track of time. S'why I'm late." Harry explained as Louis pushed back his hair from his ears to look.
