Harry had had a long day at work, he had had it up to the brim with his stupid coffee runs and not being able to put his degree to work other than once a month. So he'd decided he'd take the lift up to their apartment instead of climbing the fourteen flights of stairs.
When he got to the door he let himself in and sat down his bag and took off his shoes. He heard Louis laughing and a female voice. Harry was confused as he stepped down the hall and into their dining room to peer around the corner at his husband and his ex girlfriend talking on his couch.
Harry had never met her, but he'd seen pictures. He knew Louis had loved her far more than he could imagine at one point. The engagement ring he had bought for her is in his memory box, Harry knew that. Harry also knew that Louis would've give them sun, moon, stars, and kids to her. "Babe?" Harry's blood was boiling but he tried not to show it.
Louis glanced back and stood up, "Hey! you're home early. Come here, I want you to meet someone." He said as he walked over to Harry.
"Actually I'm an hour late." Harry frowned and glanced at where she was sitting with their back to them. She felt the tension in the room and she wanted nothing more than to get herself out of the situation. "I know who she is." He whispered to Louis as he stood there, "and I want her out of my house." He kept his voice low, he didn't want to hurt her feelings. She wasn't the one who needed the boundary reminder. Louis was.
Louis rolled his eyes close, "come say hello."
Harry sighed and moved around the couch as he took off his blazer. He held out his hand for her to shake. "Hi. I'm Harry, Louis' husband." He made sure to add the end part.
"Eleanor." She smiled, her voice was sweet and Harry glanced at Louis.
"It's nice to meet you, I've heard so many things." Unfortunately. Harry thought it, but decided against saying it.
"Louis was saying you're a lawyer." She smiled softly.
"Trying to be." Harry replied, not wanting to carry on the conversation. He'd said his hellos and he wanted Louis to get her out.
"Well... I guess I should be going." Eleanor stood as they all were silent. "You'll get back to me on it?" Harry heard Eleanor ask as Louis walked her to the door.
"Of course. As soon as I can." Louis smiled.
Harry stood with his arms crossed, pissier than a cat who's had it's tail pulled. Louis shut the door after her and sighed softly, walking back into the living room where Harry was. "What the fuck Louis?!" He huffed.
"What?"
"Why was she in my house?"
"We were discussing something." Louis replied and shrugged. He took a step around the couch and stood in front of Harry, reaching out to uncross his arms. "Is someone jealous?"
Harry swatted his hands away, "don't touch me."
Louis tried to grab his hands this time, "Harry... Babe, come on. You've been the most important thing in my life for almost eight years."
Harry shoved him back this time, "I said don't fucking touch me, Louis. Fucking explain to me why your ex girlfriend in whom you were going to marry and have kids with was sitting on my couch." He shoved at Louis's chest again.
Louis shoved him back, "fucking." It was meant to be a joke, and to Louis it was, but it was also an awfully timed joke that Harry didn't find funny at all.
Harry could feel his anger bubbling and he went to shove Louis back again, but Louis caught his arms. He was really tired of all this shoving around, Louis knew Harry would never hit him and he'd never hit Harry. He also knew Harry wouldn't have shoved him if he hadn't had tried to grab him first. But Louis needed him to stop and needed him to drop that fucking attitude. So he pushed him up against the wall and held him there. "Wanna try that again, princess?"
