Harry had checked their bank statements as he was doing his afternoon coffee run for his office. He had seen that another of Niall and Liam's checks had cleared.

Louis had been on the clock 24/7 for them, he'd given him his personal cellphone number. He didn't mind. Harry was getting on just fine with Niall as a friend.

Harry and Louis had been saving more than half of each check Niall and Liam had paid them, as well as the small salary Harry was paid. They lived off of Louis' check, which they've been doing for years. So nothing was changing much. Except now Harry had decided he'd talk to Louis about getting a new apartment. They'd had a decent amount of money saved and they could start looking around. Who knows how long it would take them to find the perfect place.

Louis was waiting in the lobby of the office building. Scrolling through his social media as he waited for Harry to get off work. He glanced up when he heard a scuff against the floor and he saw his husband carrying three drink carriers awkwardly. He frowned a little. Harry was telling him he was working on cases and trying his best to get hired into a firm. "Harry?" Louis stood up.

Harry closed his eyes for a second and sighed, "shit."

"Are you getting them coffee?" Louis asked and glanced at the conference room. Harry just nodded a little, "You're not a slave."

"I offered."

"Yeah.." Louis rubbed his chin some, "why don't you get your stuff so we can go."

"I'm not done working yet, Louis. Take a seat. I'll be done in like twenty minutes." Harry whispered and went over to the conference room, pushing the door open with his backside. He passed out the coffee to the people around the room and he took his seat, opening his file to follow along with the meeting.

Louis sat down and watched him through the glass wall, biting on the top of his thumb when Harry would look up and lock eyes with him. Harry knew he'd caught him. Harry packed his things a little slower than everyone else once the meeting was over. He'd noticed he sat a little further back from the table as well. Jack Roache had shook his hand and wished him luck on gathering things for this upcoming case.

Harry sling his bag over his shoulder and walked out to his husband, "don't say anything. Let's just go." He said quietly as he made his way out to their car. He didn't wanna do this in front of his colleagues. So he didn't give Louis the choice.

Louis slid into the driver's seat. "I get coffee sometimes. It's not a big deal." Harry explained himself.

"All I said was, you weren't a slave. You're making it a big deal, H." Louis started the car and began to drive them home.

They were both silent until they parked in their allotted parking space in front of their building. Harry looked at the building quietly, "Louis?"

"Yes love?" Louis was shoving things from the car into his own bag.

"I think we should start looking at other apartments. To move." Harry's voice was quiet, louis glanced at him. "I mean, as long as we don't piss off Niall and Liam, they hired you as their personal family doctor. Which means we'll have a large steady income for a little while.."

"Okay." Louis chuckled. "Okay, I think you're right. We've lived here since we moved in together and we are outgrowing a lot of it."

"Maybe we can get a house.."

"We aren't making that much money, my love. But we'll look at bigger apartments, okay? One step at a time." Louis got out of the car and went around to get Harry's door.

"I found a two bedroom, two bathroom, apartment about ten blocks from here." Harry carried his laptop from their bedroom to where Louis had been standing at the bathroom sink with a towel knotted around his waist. "Can we go look at it? It's open house from noon to two today. And the rent isn't too far above what we pay now."
