Chapter Nineteen

Third Person P.O.V.
Erza sits up and scratches her head. Her fingers get tangled in her messy hair. "W-what happened?" She yawns. Suddenly, the door opens and in walks Meredy with a worried look on her face. She places the medicine on the other bed, not looking at Erza. "Meredy, what's wrong?"

Meredy drops the wet piece of cloth and looks at Erza, "you're awake?" She took sometime to process everything in. "YOU'RE AWAKE!" She sprints to Erza and hugs her tightly. Erza tries to talk but couldn't breathe. "I MISSED YOU SO MUCH, ERZA!"

"M-Meredy," Erza chocks out. Meredy lets go of Erza, "what happened here? What's with the medicine? Why is my hair messy? Where're Natsu, Lucy, and Gray? Is the war still going on? Where's my mother? Why do I feel like I just threw up a bunch?" Meredy laughs.

"You got very sick, the medicine was to heal you, your hair is messy because you moved around a lot when you were unconscious, Natsu, Lucy, and Gray should be coming home in a little, the war is still going on, your mother is fighting in the war alongside Zeref and the others, and you feel like you threw up a bunch because you did."

"Oh... WAIT!" Erza jumps up, causing Meredy to fall off the bed. "ZEREF IS OUT THERE!?" She runs to the window and looks outside at the battlefield, "this is bad, this is bad, this is bad!" She repeats. Meredy stands up and raises an eyebrow. Erza realizes what she said and turns around. She takes a deep breath and acts like nothing happened, "did I say bad? I meant to say amazing! We'll surely win, yeah. Go team..."

"Don't worry I know," Meredy rolls her eyes.

"YOU DO!?" Exclaims Erza, "who else did those idiots tell!?"

"Juvia and..." Meredy's voice trailed off, "when they find Ultear, then Ultear."

Erza face-palms herself at her friend's stupid decisions. Suddenly, Juvia, Lucy, Gray, Natsu, and Ultear run into the infirmary. Erza looks up at them as they cheer, "SHE'S AWAKE! Gray hugs her tight.

Lucy tells her the entire story, Natsu introduces Happy to them, Gary is still hugging Erza, Juvia is talking to Meredy, and Ultear is standing alone. Gray let's go of Erza."Ultear," Erza walks to her friend, "is this true?"

Erza waits for an answer but only gets silence. Ultear takes a deep breath, "yes. Yes it is." She says, her hands beginning to tremble, "I'm sorry, your highness." Said Ultear, you can tell she's afraid. Not only that, she's sad.

"Ultear, why?" Erza's expression softens.

"Because... You know that I love Jellal... But I thought he loved you... And I feel even more like shit because I didn't think of Meredy..." Ultear looks up at Meredy. Meredy looks away, "I'm sorry, I'm selfish... I'm sorry..." Ultear says, her voice breaking.

"You're not selfish, Ultear, you should have just talked to me." Erza says, her voice calm and hushed. Ultear hugs her. She looks at Meredy and let's go of Erza. Erza turns and looks at Meredy. Meredy sighs and looks down. Juvia walks away from her.

"Ultear...." Whispers Meredy. Meredy looks up at Ultear as tears begin welling up in her eyes. Meredy runs to her foster mother and hugs her, "I forgive you! I could never be mad at you, Ultear, I love you with all my heart!" Ultear's tears fall down uncontrollably.

"Aw," Lucy wipes a tear of joy out of her eye. Natsu and Gray smile at each other, Juvia grabs Happy and hugs him, and Erza watches as they embrace each other. Natsu walks to them and swings his arms around the two girls. They have a surprised expression on their faces.

"Alrighty then," he yells, "LET'S CELEBRATE!"

"I don't think it's a good time to celebrate, Natsu, we're in the middle of a war right now." Erza chuckles softly. "First, are you forgetting somethings?" Erza closes her eyes, folds her arms, and waits for answers. Everyone stares at her in confusion.
