Brandish's P.O.V.
Acnologia left a while ago, he had "some business to attend to." It just sounds to me like he misses his beer more than he cares about the well being of his kingdom. Dragons, I tell you.
Romeo runs to me with a arm full of blood. Romeo is the son of Maco, the captain of the third army welfare unit. His son Romeo grew up to be just like him, strong and brave too. I saw him "hanging out" with this girl from Fiore.
"Brandish, where's Chelia!?" He exclaims in fear. I don't answer the traitor. I haven't talked to him ever since I saw what they did, and I'm planing on keeping it that way.
I just turn around and begin walking towards Queen Irene. He falls down in pain. "Traitors, they don't deserve to live. Neither do you, Romeo." He gasps.
Suddenly, I see Makarov strike the Queen. She falls down, acing in pain. If only she hadn't took on all those dragon slayers, she would have been fine! Makarov stands there, catching his breath as Queen Irene lay on the ground, breathing heavily.
I run to her. "Lady Irene!" She tries to stand but falls back down again. I quickly catch her before she hits the ground. "Are you okay?" I ask her. She smiles and nods.
"If only I haven't took on all those dragon slayers, I would have been fine." She sighs.
"Funny." I said, "I was just thinking the same exact thing." She laughs as I set her down. "I'll leave you to finish your fight, I was just worried."
"Now, Brandish," She stands up and grins, "I am the Mother of Dragons, why would you be worried?" Makarov frowns. I grin, stand up, and quickly run away before they start their second round.
I laugh to myself. I'm a fool, she was fine the whole time.
Erza's P.O.V.
I stand there as the war plays out in front of me. As much as I hate this and would love to fight, I would be disrespecting Jellal. Someone runs to me. When this happens, I just dodge their attack's and don't hurt them.
After a while of dodging and getting hit, I hear my mom scream, "fight back, Erza!" She punches Makorov down. He yells and kicks her miles away from me. He runs after her.
I look at the person as they grin, "I'm sorry," I look down and Requip into my Knight Armor. Their eyes widen, you can see the fear. I bite my lip as I swing my sword. I'm sorry...
They fall on the ground, a puddle of blood beginning to fill around them. My hands begin trembling. What have I done? I run into Dragnof's forest and look around. If only my friends were here, they would know what to do. I'll go see where Sting and Rogue are!
I turn around to run out but someone grabs my hand. I turn to see Mavis, a worried look on her face. She takes a deep breath before falling into her knees and collapsing on the ground. I pick her up, "Mavis! Are you all right?"
"Erza, he's too strong.." she coughs out blood. My eyes widen. Even she can't beat him? What chance do we have? "I'm sorry.." she smiles, but I won't stop fighting, I won't stop for you... for Fiore."
My lips begin to tremble. I begin to cry, the tears falling down uncontrollably. She smiles and cups my cheek with her hand. "I don't know w-what to do anymore!" I cry, "I don't want to hurt his army but if my moms sees me-"
"Erza, don't cry. You know... when I was 'alive', people would run away from things that you stood up to. You know, I've never met someone as brave, kind, and amazing as you." She says. But it didn't help stopping me from crying.
I hear a twig crack. I look up straight ahead then behind me. That's when I see them. Makarov is standing their in shock, while my mother breaks a twig off a tree and cracks it. "What is this?" She frowns.
No...
Makarov's P.O.V.
That night, I decided to go home. I let Queen Irene take her daughter with her home, they needed to have a talk. But something kept annoying me. Why do I feel bad for her. Why do I feel bad for Erza?
She's killed so many of my army, she's practically the devil. I sit down in my throne and look at Mavis in disappointment. "Why?" I say in a hushed voice, "why did you complement her like that?" She bites her lip. "Don't tell me she helped summoning you, Mavis?"
"It's more complicated then you think.." she sobs, "I'm sorry... they did summon me." No way... "Erza and Jellal, including their friends, hate this war. I know you do too, Makarov. But when Erza found out that her mom was going to call Zeref, Jellal told her about the only person who can kill him... me... unfortunately, I still haven't been able to do so."
"Tell me, Mavis..." I look down. She looks up at me. "Is it true that you can answer or do anything?" She sighs and nods. "Then tell me; why did I feel like I got stabbed in the heart when I saw her tears?"
"What?"
"It was the worst feeling in the world. It felt like I could cry a river, it felt like something was holding me back, it felt like.... like I was sorry for her. Why?"
She looks down. "Remember... when rumors went around about the burden of your life? You... resurrected me.. to ask me if there was such thing, I said there wasn't... I was lying." My eyes widen. "Makarov... E-Erza's tears are.. the burden of your life."
