Chapter Twenty-three

Erza's P.O.V.
Everyone is shocked to hear this. Imagine it. The person who stole the jewel only stole it to protect their family! ITS CRAZY! They left behind a big war. I wonder how the knew about the war and Jellal and I. Right now is not the time to think, we need to get them back.

"How can we get them back!?" Ultear exclaims. She clenches her fists but Titania doesn't speak. Titania doesn't look happy, not one bit. She doesn't look angry ether. She looks sad. Does she know them? "What is it now?dont tell me something else is gonna happen."

"Unfortunately, I don't have the power to send you all to the other world." She says softly. Her squeaky and annoying voice is now soft and gentle. "I can only send ten of you, I'm sorry..." She whispers. "She was my friend, I'm letting her down."

"She?" Mira raises an eyebrow.

"Titania has friends?" Natsu chuckles. Titania looks up at him and frowns. "I thought you said that you're not used to looking at humans for this long. I'm not a human so I'm fine and Happy is a cat. Now thinking about it, she must not be human."

"No, she's human." Titania's voice breaks, "I haven't talked to any humans every since she left. She showed me how to be kind and happy until she left... It's all my fault this war started. If I was a good friend, I would have let her leave without taking anything."

I know she's rude and such but she doesn't deserve to be alone. "Excuse me, Titania," I walk to her. She looks down at me and smiles. Her smile fills the whole room with light. Warm and happy light. "How come you're not in the Fairy kingdom?"

Her smile and the light fades. "Oh.." She takes a deep breath, her eyes tearing up. "I-I was kicked out of the land of the Fairies for being a 'monster.' I eat souls. I got the nickname 'The Fairy Of The Golden Oak Library'. I was shunned and shut out for being a 'monster'. I'm never allowed to go see my family.." She drops to her knees. We hear her sobbing, taking everyone by surprise. "I may seem strong and evil but I'm broken and weak! Alone and tired! Sleepless and heartless!"

Ultear smiles and walks to the fairy. We make a circle around her. "Now, if you're a monster why would you tell us these things?" Natsu smiles. She looks up at him, her ocean blue eyes red. "If you were a monster, you would have never told us about the person who stole the jewel because you would've wanted the war to go on."

"You're not weak." I tilt my head to the right, close my eyes, and smile. "Living is a sign of strength." She looks at me. "Who's the fairy who knows everything? Who's the creature who can creat a whole universe with a snap of her finger? I only know of one fairy."

Titania's P.O.V.
I stare up at Erza. It's true what they said. She has gorgeous eyes, long rare hair, a kind heart, a strong spirit, she's brave, fit, and selfless.

I look down at the ground, my tears hitting it. Lucy grabs my hand, picks me up, and hugs me. The rest of the group begin comforting me. I see Erza standing behind Lucy. Erza smiles at Jellal who is talking to her. That's when I find her.

The new Titania.

The new Titania, who is better than all the others, shall be Erza Scarlet.

Lucy's P.O.V.
Titania told us that in order to get back to earth land, we have to find the Exceed Queen's staff. She has visions of the future and decides who dies and who lives. If we get on her nerves, we could die. "Have you picked your ten yet?" Titania gets a small chest out from inside a safe.

"Yes." Erza nods, "Lucy, Natsu, Gajeel, Happy, Jellal, Laxus, Gray, Juvia, Wendy, and Mirajane." Wait. She doesn't wanna come? I glance at her, Sting, Rogue, Meredy, and Ultear. What do they want to stay? Erza loves adventure, she can't stay!

"Erza, you don't wanna go?" Gray asks.

"But why?" Natsu asks.

"I'd better stay here, my mother wouldn't be happy if she finds out that I've been out for a long time. Natsu, your brother doesn't worry about you. No offense, but we all know he doesn't care where you are because no matter what, you can't die." She explains. He shrugs and nods in agreement.

I stare at Jellal who doesn't seem happy. We can't help that only ten of us can go. I wish that we can all go. "I would rather stay here in safety, I don't want to get into anymore trouble then we already are in." Sting laughs. Meredy nods.

"I am Queen Irene's advisor, she has probably already noticed my absence." Said Ultear.

"Fine but know that I'm happy about this." Happy turns around and folds his paws.

"That's cute." Wendy winks.

"Yeah, 'cause your name is Happy so... You can't not be Happy." Gajeel shrugs.

"This is making my brain hurt!" Natsu closes his eyes and tries to process everything in. I laugh and place my hand on his shoulder.

"Give Natsu a break." Laxus rolls his eyes.

"You're all so cute!" Mirajane laughs. Laxus chuckles along with her. She stops and smiles at him. He nods, still smiling. She walks to me and grabs my wrist. She pulls me farther away from the others. Titania is still trying to get the chest open, Jellal is helping her.

"Mira, what is it?" I ask.

She blushes, "isn't he cute!?" She whisper-yells. I'm sorry, what? I stand there in shock. She likes Laxus? If she's ever gonna have a chance, she has to fight his army of fan girls. "I can't believe I'm the one in love!" I place my hand on my mouth and laugh.

It's time to give her a taste of her own medicine. "YOU LOOOVVEEE HIM!" Mirajane is always teasing others when they're in love. I would know because I was victim of her childish teasing. She blushes hard and hisses. "MIRA AND LAXUS, SITTING IN A TREE, K-I-S-S-I-N-G!"

"SHUT UP!" She places her finger on my lips. She removes her finger and slaps me. "Dang it, Lucy!" I laugh and grab her wrist. I pull her towards Laxus who is talking to Wendy. "Lucy, stop!" She orders. I don't listen and keep on dragging her to him, "LUCY, NO!" She yells, trying to stop.

"Heya, Laxus," I say when I near him. I stand next to him. He looks down at me. He's scary. I don't see what she sees in him. "Mirajane is a really nice girl, you guys have so much in common." Mirajane shrieks, "you should go on a-" she stomps on my foot.

I scream and hold my foot in pain. I jump away. "Sorry about that, she's trying to make me angry. It worked." Mirajane smiles like nothing happened. THAT DANG GIRL, UGH! So the shipping goddess can ship others but we can't ship her?!

"Alright, finally." Titania takes out a pair of scissors. We all stare at her in confusion. "These scissors can open portals to other dimensions." She squats down. She begins snipping the wall. She stands up and cuts it to her height. After a couple of seconds, a black portal appears, "say your goodbyes, everyone."

"Bye, Erza." I hug her. She hugs me back. "I'll miss you, Sting, Rogue, Meredy, Ultear. I'll miss you a lot!" I let go of Erza and smile at the others. After we all said our goodbyes, we stand in front of the portal.

"Before you leave," Titania calls to us, "you have three days to retrieve the staff and come home or you'll be stuck in the other world forever!"

"Got it," Gray says. Everyone, but me, enter the portal.

Titania gets up,walks to me, and hands me a note. She waves goodbye to the others. "Wait, what is this-"

"NO TIME!" She pushes me inside the portal.

Here we come, Edolas. We're going to stop this war and nothing can stop us.
