Chapter Eight

Erza's P.O.V.
I sigh and lean against a tree. Someone runs to me, ready to attack. I place my hands over my head when I hear a slash. I look up and see Elfman killing the man, "you've saved me a lot, Erza, it's my turn to be a MAN!" I laugh and walk away from the tree.

I hold my side in pain and enter the peaceful forest. Yesterday I set up a campfire where no one would find it. I put food, water, beds, and medical aids in there just in case my army and I need anything. I slowly limp to the tent.

Once I was there, I look around for anyone. No one. I sigh and walk into the tent. I sit on the bed and look at my feet. "Congrats on stopping the Jupiter canon." Someone says.

I look at the bed next to mine and find a wounded Jellal. "JELLAL!" I jump away, "WHAT ARE YOU DOING HERE!?"

He shrugs, "I got tired, walked to the forest to rest, and found this. No one was here so I decided to sit in a little. I can leave if you want." I sigh and shake my head, "are you sure?"

"Well...no?" I rub my arm, "you don't seem to be posing a threat...?" I sit down and look up at him. He looks down thoughtfully at the ground. "I hope you don't mind me asking..." He looks up, "how did this war come to be?"

He looks down at the ground again, "apparently my grandfather accused your mother of stealing jewel. She denied, he insulted her, she insulted back, and he called war." I nod and look down, "it's stupid. I bet whoever stole it feels bad...at least I hope so."

"I see..." I whisper, "I only fought in the war because you hurt my kingdom badly." I grab a new water bottle off the night stand. I open it and drink, "how do you manage to find these things?"

"What are you talking about?" He asks.

"Well the forest, it's been there for hundreds of years. You're the first one to find it alone, except for my mother, my father, my ancestors, and I. And this tent, I placed it where no one can find it!"

"I don't know. They just come to me, I know where they are." He shrugs. I look up at him in confusion, "Hibiki, a member of one of the guilds in Fiore, uses Archive magic. He installed a map into my brain."

"Whaaaa....?" I stare into his eyes in shock. He laughs softly, "I hate this war..." He stops laughing and looks at me, "I mean, why did this have to happen?" That's when it comes to me, "we're getting along, right...?" I stand up.

He nods, "I guess. It's fun when we're fighting and well...out of publicity...we don't fight."

"What if we can find who stole the jewels." I look at him and smile. His eyes widen, "neither of us wanted this to happen. We should work together and find the person who stole them. Let's prove it wasn't my mother, because I know it wasn't." I hold out my hand to him, "so what do you say?"

He did an evil smile, "oh, I don't know..." He says thoughtfully. I lower my hand in wonder. "I'm just kidding," he stands up and shakes my hand, "I'm in. But we shouldn't be the only ones doing this."

Third Person P.O.V.
for the rest of battle, all Yukino did is wonder about that blonde haired man. She hasn't seen him ever since their battle. When she beat the enemy, she would ask about him.

Why you ask? He spared her life, the least she can do is thank him. Yukino is a kind and gentle soul, but if you hurt someone important to her, she'll make you wish you were never born.

"Hey, Meredy," Ultear begins talking from the palace window. Meredy stares at her. She looks outside, "did you hear the story of the prince and the worrier princess?"

"Ummm...no?" Meredy shrugs.

"One day, two powerful kingdoms fight each other. The princess leads one army and the prince leads another. They end up working together and fall in love."

"And I should care about this story, why?"

"Because that's how Irene met her husband, Acnologia." Ultear whispered Acnologia's name. "And it's most likely that Prince Jellal and Erza will fall in love. I can't let that happen."

"What, why? Ultear, you and I love love! Wait, does that make sense?" Meredy looks at Ultear in wonder.

Ultear clenches her fists in anger. "Because I'm in love with him."

After the war that day...
Some of the army came back from war many hours past midnight, of course, some stayed back to fight. Erza looks around the spinning palace, "wow, it's a unicorn!" She points at a cloud. Everyone stares at her as she falls backwards.

"Erza." Gray rolls his eyes, "we might as well place her in bed. I call not it!"

"Not it!" Juvia, Lucy, and Yukino exclaim.

Natsu looks around as the army back away, "ffiiinnee..." He groans. He walks to Erza, picks her up as she points at the sky, and walks to her room. He places her in her bed and walks away.

"Natsu..." Erza mumbles. Natsu stops and turns around, "come here." She orders. He rolls his eyes and walks to her bed, "I need you to keep a secret. The prince and I are working together to end the war." Natsu's eyes widen when she says, "I want you to help us, Natsu."
