We arrived in front of Edward's apartment complex. Opening the car door, I tossed Ed his car keys. Not expecting keys flying at his face, Ed let the keys hit the ground. I roll my eyes at him.
"So what now?" I ask.
"Now, you help me move what's in my trunk, into my apartment," Ed answered.
I nodded my head and moved to the trunk. Ed fiddled with his keyring trying to find the key that would open the trunk. Finally finding the key, he opened the trunk. I stood there staring in horror at what was in his trunk. A body.
"I THOUGHT YOU SAID WE WEREN'T GETTING A DEAD BODY!" I yelled out.
"He's not dead. Just unconscious." Ed insisted.
"But still! You kidnapped someone!"
"He was going to jail anyway. Jim had arrested him."
I huffed, "Fine. It's already been done. Let's just get this over with."
Ed pulled the man out of the trunk and slung an arm over his shoulder. I followed Ed's actions. Walking into the complex, it thankfully only looked like we were helping out a man who was too drunk to walk, get home.
"You owe me some much when we're done with this," I grumbled out.
"Fine. Just get in the elevator." Ed replied.
We were outside Ed's apartment in no time. Ed had to get his keys out so we leaned the unconscious man against the wall. Quickly, Ed unlocked the door. I held it open for him as he dragged the body into the apartment.
This was my first time seeing his apartment. It was surprisingly cleaner than I thought it would be. There was also nothing that screamed out "murderer" to me. Most of it was metal. Except for the couch and maybe his bed.
I shut the door to the apartment and helped Ed drag the body to where he wants it which just so happens to be in the middle of the floor.
"Now what?" I asked, unsure of what was to come.
"Now, you grab a chair and I go find some duct tape," Ed instructed.
"Okay?"
I found a chair sitting in front of a coat closet. Quickly, I drag the chair to the body, all the while trying to keep from making too much noise. Penguin was asleep on Ed's bed. Ed came back with a small, brown bag and some duct tape. We hauled the body onto the chair. Ed held him in place as I wrapped him and the chair in duct tape.
"I officially feel like an accomplice," I stated as I finished wrapping the duct tape.
"Welcome." Is all Ed answered?
After that exchange, Ed put the brown bag over the man's head. Ed took the duct tape from my hands and made sure the bag wouldn't fall off. We pushed the chair in front of Ed's bed. Once that was finished I move to sit on a metal chair in the kitchen.
"And now we wait," Ed stated with a smile.
The man woke up suddenly. It must have been Ed because he was standing behind him. The man started to silently scream. He had no idea where he was or who took him. He didn't even know he was kidnapped.
