A loud buzz filled my ears, as I struggled to open my eyes. Cocoa, my dog, barked across the room indicating she wanted to leave. I yawned, stretching under my sheets. I don't want to go to school. Slowly resurrecting myself, I managed to get out the bed. Opening the door, I saw a figure, unable to decipher who it is. It was a shadow like figure, I immediately rubbed my eyes to see it disappear in plain sight. Goosebumps followed after its departure. What the hell was that? Closing my door I walked into my own bathroom starting to brush my teeth. I lifted my large t-shirt exposing my healing wound. It's been 2 days since it happened. Around it seemed normal, I didn't dare to open the patch. I spat out the remaining toothpaste, washing it away with water. Taking one last look in the mirror, I wished myself luck and walked out.
"Bye, Reign" I yelled. "Bye" she replied. I arrived at school earlier than I expected. 8:45 an. Or at least I thought I did. Climbing those same steps I confronted 'it'. Business Leadership and skills, what a wonderful class. I stared at the door contemplating its importance. Do I have to take this class? I sighed in sadness. Maybe if I just miss this one class. I mentally agreed with myself already walking towards the elevator. Entering the elevator, I could see someone from the distance walking towards it. As soon as I was able to focus on the object I realized who it was, Kai. I pressed the button to close the door as quickly as possible, unfortunately the elevator is unable to process my request at that moment. All the elevators at my school suck. Kai entered in with a sly facial expression staring me up-and-down. The doors then closed before my eyes leaving the two of us in the elevator. I could feel our vibrations collide with each other. The energy that exerted from both of our bodies clicked with one another like ying and yang. Balance, peace, and harmony. "I didn't know you came to this school" he said initiating a conversation. I confronted him in his face giving the deadliest look. "Okay, how was class?" He said continuing. The elevator by then had reached the second floor making a screeching noise unpleasant to our ears. The lights grew dim signifying the death of laziness. The elevator is broken, we will be stuck in the same spot for however long it's chosen to retire.
I tried to ring the emergency button but I couldn't reach anybody on the phone. There was no signal, no answer, and no hope. "Looks like we're stuck here" he said folding his arms. "No shit" I said sarcastically under my breath. "Why are you so rude?" He asked facing me. "Maybe because you kidnapped my best friend and want me dead" I said staring straight into his eyes. "I don't want you dead and the kidnapping wasn't my idea" he explained. "Yet you went along with it and put your hands on her. Yeah, you see I don't know if I want to even talk to you. You're lucky I spared your life" I said finding a corner furthest from him. "Well I had to do things that I necessarily didn't want to do. I know from this point on you'll see me more often than you wish to, but at least for now can we just put this aside" he said trying to compromise. I screwed my face at how stupid and innocent he sounded. "You ought to be a mother fucking lie. I don't have to like you and I don't want to see your face" I said annoyed. My mind boggled around the cause of this action. I couldn't understand why he would want to talk to me out of all people. I'm fatal, disorganized, and unstable. Nonetheless you know you have an altercation with me so why continue to instigate the problem? Stupidity and ignorance was the only diagnosis I could think of. "I'm sorry" he said lifting his hands. "Yeah whatever" I said shrugging him off.
Two hours had passed by slowly while waiting in the elevator. The walls felt closer and more condense. The air was dry and hot. Sweat showered off my forehead, like a waterfall. Constantly having to swipe it away drained my patience dry. "What the hell bro! Can we just leave already" he said annoyed. "I know right" I said in agreement. My vision was starting to get blurry. I had finally agreed on one topic, this stupid elevator. I began to breath heavily, afraid of being closed in. "Have you ever been stuck in a elevator?" He asked. "No...." I said cut off by darkness.
I woke up to bright lights, disturbing my sight. My body swayed as if someone was carrying me. Turning my head to the right, my face came in contact with a muscular chest. Their clothes reeked of cologne bringing pleasure to my senses. "She's awake now, I'm gonna take her home" a familiar voice said. "Kai?" I said screwing my eyebrows. "Yeah" he said in response. My eyes immediately widen. I quickly jumped out of his arms landing on the floor. I could hear a soft giggle leave his mouth as he watched me get up. "Chill ma, we still in school" he said nonchalantly. "Oh" I said looking around in relief. An administrator and several other kids giggled to themselves passing by. I straightened out my clothes walking directly to the parking lot. "Wait" Kai said catching up to me. "What?" I asked annoyed. "The parking lot is the other way" he said pointing in the opposite direction. My cheeks filled with red from embarrassment. "Thanks" I said dryly. "No problem babygirl" he said following me. I stopped in my tracks, staring back at him in disgust. "Don't call me that" i said sternly. "Babygirl" he said mockingly. Rolling my eyes I continued to race over to my car.
