Chapter 27

They're coming for me. My head is wrapped around their finger like a string. I thought i was safe. I thought I was forever.

I woke up hyperventilating from the heavy amount of anxiety i endured in my dreams. My eyes still hung low, as i searched the my dimmed room. Closed blinds, flickering candle, cooling A/C, I sighed rubbing my temples. I must be crazy. I laid next to Kai's sleeping body hoping that he would turn around to face me. Instead i stood there admiring his back until he turned around. Goosebumps came over me by the look of it. It wasn't him laying with me. It's her. Until it open their eyes realized who it was, Amaranthine. My stomach dropped along with my ability to move. Her eyes glowed in the dark, dragging me into its cell. Do you hate me now? I blinked hard hoping that when I open my eyes she'll be gone. Are you ready? I can't wait till you hate me again. Darkness began to consume me, allowing me to drift off into a deep sleep.

It was 1 in the afternoon, I've been in bed cuddling Kai since i woke up. A sexy groan left his mouth making me smile. He looked down on me, taking in my features. "You're so beautiful" he said starting to fiddle with my curls. "How many times are you gonna say that" I said giggling. "Until I can't" he said with a smirk.

"So, how was your sleep?" "It was good. How about you?" He asked. "It was weird as hell. I had this dream with some purple lady" I said scrunching up my face. "What happened though?" "At first I was drowning and then I think I passed out. Then I woke up in this white room and this lady, had purple skin. She sneaked up from behind me and asked me if I was ready. I had no idea what she was talking about so I asked why, then she wanna to say, I can't wait until I start hating her again. So that left me even more confused than how I entered. Later on I just drifted back to sleep and then woke up again out of my sleep to see her laying in the bed as you" i said gasping for air. He smiled a bit, but he didn't seem too happy either. Not like he's supposed to be. "There's something I have to tell you" he said seriously. Bingo. I nodded my head indicating for him to speak. "What if I told you she was real" he said staring into my eyes. I giggled at his suggestion and shook my head. "Come on it's just a dream" I said smiling.

"I'm going to say something and i want you to be as open as you possibly can" he said holding onto my hands. My expression changed by how serious he had become. "I'm your soulmate. I've known you for at least a thousand years" I furrowed my eyebrows at how absurd this started to sound. "I know i sound crazy, but I remember you. I've fallen in love with you each and every life you go through, no matter how messed up the circumstances are" he explained. "Like in your last life I was your brother and you killed me..." Cooling fingers reached my hands. I don't think he's lying. "Lamar?" I said holding my mouth. It's like the name just slipped off my lips. Our lips touched pulsing fresh blood at its tips. "Yeah, that was my name....So you believe me?" He questioned. I'll love you even in my afterlife. "I honestly don't even know what's going on" I stated. "Well to give you some clarity I can tell you what your life was like" He suggested. I quickly nodded allowing him to continue. "Your first life was actually fun. I remember you used to tell me stories about the adventures you had. You were different, happy. We met when you turned 17, since then we were inseparable. You were so in love that you went to the one person you can trust, your sister, Amaranthine" "Sister?" I said screwing up my face. "She was special, she had the ability to grant you endless life. Which sounds too good to be true but trust me she could. Either way she had the biggest crush on me and none of us knew until you asked" He stated. "Asked for what?" "Immortality" "Wait let me get this straight that purple bitch is my sister and you remember that" I said astonished. "Yes, but let me finish. When you asked she gave it to you in the worst way. The obvious being having to live lives and not remember shit. The icing being that all your lives are fucked up" he explained.

I stood there speechless unable to comprehend anything. I can't believe the words that exited his mouth. She's my sister. This was just all too much to handle. It's different when the life you're living turns out to be a lie or even partially true. I doubted myself for being different and now that I find out I am I don't know what to do. "I'm sorry but i'm just shocked" I said pulling words out of my mouth. "No It's okay. I understand, it's a lot" he said consolidating me. "Yeah it is" I said smiling. "Just know that no matter what I love you, and i'll be there for you every step of the way" he said staring passionately into my eyes. "I know" I said snuggling into his chest. "I love you too" I said smiling
