Giving Shannon's characters something different, since they always seem to do the same thing in fan fictions(no offense). Of course they're in high school, so I will eventually have a prom involved, but let's have fun. Now Enjoy!

Sophie jumped out of bed right before the alarm. Yes, an awesome start she thought. Today was her first day of soccer, and Sophie was enthusiastic to start. She had gone shopping the previous day to get some gear that she was told she needed; sports shirts, pants, shin guards, and cleats. She especially loved the cleats, which were gold and white, like angel wings. Sophie ate an actually healthy breakfast, grabbed her stuff, and headed to school.

As she shoved her soccer bad in her locker, Sophie felt someone's gaze burning into her back. She turned around to find Fitz leaning against the opposite wall.

"You're joining soccer?" He asked, although to Sophie that seemed obvious, given what she just had expertly stuffed her locker with.

"Yeah. Do you play too?" Sophie asked, blushing slightly. Fitz rubbed the back of his head, looking sideways at her.

"No, I'm more of a football guy. Better with my arms."

"Oh." was all Sophie could think of saying.

"Good luck at practice. I'll see you in history." Fitz told her, throwing a smile at her before leaving. Sophie stared at his retreating form, then shrugged.

Her first periods, history and English, she had with Fitz, and went as usual. She liked her morning classes, but hated the ones right before lunch: P.E. and math. Those two combined made her feel like the universe was trying to kill both mentally and physically.

As the bell sounded for the end of math class, Sophie ran out of the room. She jogged all the way to the cafeteria, then sat down with a "mmmph".

"You okay Sophie? Is someone chasing you?" Biana asked, looking up from her ever-present makeup palette.

"Nah, I think Foster just finished math." Keefe answered for her, sliding down the bench to sit next to Sophie.

"Ahh," Biana commented, looking back to her makeup. Soon, everyone was around the table, talking about their boring classes and joking around. Sophie closed her eyes and sighed happily. She had never felt like she belonged until she came to Foxfire. All too soon the bell rang, bringing a round of grumbles from around the cafeteria. Sophie grabbed her stuff and headed towards choir.

Choir was her favorite class, because she could sing without anyone singling her out. The director called for attention, and she and the rest of the class sang. Sophie secretly liked to stand by the best singers, because their voices were so pretty. This time, though, she heard in back of her a voice she hadn't heard before.

Sophie inconspicuously looked behind her, and was startled to see Keefe. Does Keefe have a good voice? she mused, angling herself so she could pick out whether it was him. It was. Sophie listened to his rich tenor voice for about 10.5 seconds, until he caught on that she was listening.

He winked at her, then sang violently off tune.

The director looked up, slashing his hand across his throat.

"STOP!" he yelled in his totally fake Italian accent, "Who is singing flat? I know it was on purpose! WHO?"

Of course, no one stepped forward. He glared at each student in turn, beady eyes flashing.

"OK, we'll start over." He lifted his hands, and the choir sang. Until Keefe started singing 'Mary had a Little Lamb' under his breath. A couple of other boys began to sing it under their breath, until it invisibly spread across the room. Soon, everyone was singing, "with wool as white as snow..."

"NO! STOP!ABBASTANZA!!!" The director yelled, smashing his conductor stick on his podium. Sophie had no idea what his last word was, but she started to laugh with the rest of her class. The bell rang suddenly, saving them from the furious teacher. As Sophie walked out, Keefe sidled up to her and whispering,

"And that, Foster, is how you start a rebellion." His warm breath was close to her ear, and Sophie blushed slightly. She turned to look at him, but he was already gone in the crowd of people. Sophie dejectedly headed towards her last class, chemistry. If the world wanted to kill her, it was doing a good job.

                                                                              ***

Sophie struggled to pull the long, evil soccer socks onto her legs. I haven't even made it onto the field yet Sophie thought anxiously. With a last tug, she called it good and headed towards the field. Foxfire had an amazing stadium, and to be honest it was one of the reasons she was convinced to play. Green fields stretched on and on, broken only by the white lines striping them.

Sophie jogged up to where a group of girls in similar attire were standing. She joined the group, but noticed they were all looking at the football players.

"Look at him go! He's so athletic!" a girl commented, the others nodding in agreement. Sophie followed their gaze, and saw that they were watching a tall, athletic looking boy. They were all in uniforms, so it was hard to tell if she knew him.

"Oh, hey! You're new right? I'm Tanya, team captain." the girl who had commented spoke to Sophie.

"Yeah, my name's Sophie. Nice to meet you." Sophie immediately like Tanya. Her friendly dimpled smile made her especially happy looking. Tanya flicked her head back to the football team, her caramel braids jumping.

"Yeah, this is our favorite pastime, watching the football players. I guess we don't make a good first impression." she joked. "Which one's your favorite?"

"I'm not sure if I know any of them." Sophie said right as a football came soaring for her head. Sophie mouth gaped open, but she couldn't move. It hit her square in the face, propelling her backwards.

"Alfred! I said me, not that poor girl!" Sophie heard distantly. The girls gathered around her, chorusing 'Are you okay', 'Stupid Alfred', and 'poor girl'.

"Sorry cap'n... it was my left hand? Never mind, it was my right." The girls giggled at this, some rolling their eyes. Sophie heard the cadence of running feet coming towards them.

"Sorry, it was my team-" Fitz cut off looking incredulously at her. "Sophie? I didn't know it hit you!"

"Yeah," Sophie answered, "but I'm okay." Fitz held out his hand, and Sophie took it. His strong arm pulled her up, making Sophie blush. He looked at her, concerned.

"Are you sure you're okay?" he asked, teal eyes filled with worry.

"Yep!" Sophie quickly replied, attempting to get out of the center of attention. However, her plan was foiled all too soon.

"FOSTER'S PLAYING SOCCER?!!" Keefe yelled, running over to the team.

"How observant of you," Tanya commented sarcastically, but she was obviously loving the attention. Sophie shrugged helplessly.

"Well, have a good practice." Fitz told her smiling, then dragged a confused Keefe away.

That's the end of this chapter! So, how do you like Soccer Sophie?By the way, Sophie's a sophomore and Keefe and Fitz are juniors, just to clear that up.
