The next afternoon at soccer practice, Sophie had planned to find this mysterious 26. Unfortunately, the boys weren't wearing their jerseys. Which was really to bad, because all of Sophie's plan had revolved around this tiny detail. She sighed in frustration.
She watched the football players practice every spare moment she had, trying to recognize a height, gait, or mannerism- anything that could show her who number 26 is. Why am I so obsessed with this? she thought it's just a boy. Like that was a good reason.

"Wait up Foster!" Keefe sidled up beside her, matching her foosteps.
"Why not walk together, since we're neighbors and all?" he suggested, hefting his duffle bag onto his shoulder. Sophie looked sideways at him, the setting sun making his hair glow like a halo. Sophie blushed at her thoughts, glad no one in the world was a telepath. I should write a book on that she mused. Sophie looked back at Keefe and realized he was staring at her.
"What?" Sophie blushed, flustered.
"Nothing," Keefe answered. They had made it back to their houses. Keefe waved to her and headed up to his door. Out of nowhere, Sophie remembered her unsolved riddle.
"Keefe? Who is number 26 on the football team?"
Keefe thought for a minute, then answered, "That would be Tam Song."
You didn't see that coming, did you? Oh yeah! The Song twins will most definitely be making an appearance. I know Tam doesn't seem like a football player, but what if he's the water boy??? We'll make it work...
