Publishing early, I might not have time on Sunday like usual. Enjoy!!!

Sophie's heart beat fast in her ears. She intently watched her teammates dribble the ball down the field. SCORE!

"You're in Sophie! Work hard!" Her coach yelled. Sophie ran onto the field, ponytail swinging enthusiastically behind her. This was the last game before Thanksgiving break, and she wanted to make her team proud. Also, it was the first time she was going to play in an actual game.

Sophie stopped at her spot, on the right side up front, where she would play Forward. The referee blew his whistle, and the game began. The opposite team passed each other the ball expertly. Sophie started to run up in an attempt to steal it, but Tanya beat her to it.

"Get ready Sophie!" she yelled, dribbling forward. Sophie sprinted down field, glancing back at Tanya. Tanya booted the ball into the air towards Sophie. Sophie trapped it, looked up, and dribbled. Defenders swarmed her, one of them elbowing her painfully in the ribs. Sophie tumbled to the ground, the ball flying away.

Moments later, Tanya flashed past her with the ball. In a matter of seconds, she managed to juke all three defenders and score. Sophie looked on in amazement. No wonder Tanya was already a captain her junior year; she was amazing.

"Nice job Sophie. Just keep your head up." Tanya remarked. Sophie rubbed under her arms where she'd been elbowed.

Both teams arranged themselves in their starting line-ups. Sophie closed her eyes and murmured a chant she'd made up earlier at practice.

"I am one with my legs, my legs are with me. I am one with my legs, my legs are with me." She had recently watched Rogue One, where the blind man repeated a similar mantra.

She opened her eyes to see one of the girls on the opposite team staring at her.

"I have balance issues," Sophie said to her sheepishly. The girl cracked a smile.

"Don't we all?" she responded. Tanya seemed a little irritated with her side conversation, but the referee's whistle prevented her from saying anything.

The game ended with an impressive score of 6-0. As Sophie walked off the field she saw Fitz and Biana in the stands. They waved to her and walked over.

"You were awesome out there Sophie! You're my soccer star!" Biana shouted the last sentence, making a few heads turn.

"We were going to have a big Thanksgiving celebration on Thursday. Do you think you can come?" Fitz asked, looking a tad bit shy. Sophie's cheeks warmed, but probably because she was cold. Definitely not because of Fitz she thought.

"Will there be any pumpkin pie?" Sophie asked, trying to play cool. She had a strange obsession with pumpkin pie.

"She's a keeper." Biana stated. Fitz threw an annoyed glance at Biana, but Biana just smiled serenely and retorted,

"Anyone who loves pumpkin pie has to come to the Vacker estate. Our Mom makes the best pumpkin pie." She addressed this last part to Sophie.

"I'm in, I don't think we have anything planned." Sophie said.

"Just let us know!" Biana responded happily.

Thanksgiving break was off to a great start...

Okay, so I'm obviously off a few months, but I can't just skip half a year to catch up. I'm planning on finishing up Sophie's first year as this school year ends, so around the end of March or beginning of June I'll be caught up. That will conclude this book. I'm planning on writing a book for her second year at Foxfire, which will take place at the same time as next school year. I'm thinking about doing a short summer book, but I'm not sure yet. I'm open to ideas, so feel free to make suggestions. (I already have some ideas for next year's chapters, they're gonna be awesome!)
