I awake to a crash. Water falls into my face. I jump up and yell.
"The roof collapsed!!! Help me put it back up!!" I'm short so I can't reach the ceiling, neither can Mitch. Everyone gets up and we put the roof back on. Now that we're up, we have nothing to do. We start singing Cant Hold Us, because we need to ride till it's over, as said in the song. We walk outside in the rain, getting the dirt off of us. We keep singing. We don't care. This is what we love and do. Who knows, someone may hear us. We are singing as loud as possible. We start Natural Disaster. It relates so much to our situation. We start walking, no one cares where. The rain has stopped. We will come back later. We're gonna look for survivors. We walk back the way we came. We see bodies, littering the ground, and collapsed buildings. Suddenly the ground shakes. It's an earthquake. Hmm. At that very moment, Scott sang," My heart was shaking in your earthquakes." Well that's a coincidence if I've ever seen one. We all hold onto each other and run as fast as possible to our makeshift home. Suddenly, a building comes down right on top of us. Everything stops shaking. We keep singing, to let each other know we're still okay. Avi and I are on one side, and Scott, Kevin and Mitch ore on the other. Love Again. We're all trapped. We keep singing, there's nothing else we can do. We struggle as hard as possible to get out. I hear Scott yell.
"I'm out!""Me too!" Avi. He helps me out of the rubble. Soon we're all out. Avi puts me on his shoulders. Now I can see over the wall separating us from the others. I reach out my hand to Mitch, who is on Scott's shoulders. I pull him up, using all the strength I've ever had. Once he's on top of the wall, I get on the top too. Avi helps Mitch down. Now I help Scott. I pull him up while he climbs the wall. Avi and Mitch and holding onto my foot so I don't fall. Soon Scott is up with me. We both help Kevin up and we all jump down.
"Let's go a different way into town." Suggests Mitch. We all look at him with questioning looks on our faces. "Queen wants to get out of here!" We all laugh. Mitch always finds a way to lighten the mood. We keep walking. We sing Hit the Road Jack. Singing will be our way to tell people that were here. Soon we gather a small crowd. It consists of adults. With cars. We finish the song and everyone applaud. Everyone being 8 people. They have two cars between them. One of them holds six, and the other holds five. The ground shakes again. The building that the people were in comes crashing down.
"If you want a car, get in one NOW" One of the people shouts. We all run to the car that has space, but it was too late. The building collapsed, this time not on all of us, but on Mitch. We all dug frantically. Even the people who said they'd leave without us helped. Ten minutes later, we find Mitch. Everyone screams and Scott breaks down crying. Mitch's legs were crushed. One of his bones was showing. The rest of him was okay, still bloody from cuts though. Suprisingly, he wasn't unconscious. He was softly crying to himself.
"Scotty." He let out a faint whisper. Scott was by his side in an instant. I was there too.
"Mitch, were gonna get you out of here." Scott said. Scott picked up Mitch and out him in a car. The passenger seat of that car was crushed,
No one could sit there. The car with six people left. Then the car containing two people and Scott and Mich started the engine.
"We'll find you." Scott said.
"We'll find you too." I replied.
"We love you." Said Kevin.
"Good luck" Avi said. They car drive off. We followed them. Another aftershock. We stopped and screamed at them to floor it. They did. They just missed a giant rock falling on them. They were gone. I hope they remember our meeting place. Kevin, Avi and I turned and ran. The sun was setting once more. We had to get to the shelter before we lost light. One hour later, the last few days of sure light barely show. We just got home. Home. I miss home so much. Will this be our new home? I start crying. Avi notices my crying and starts singing Bohemian Rhapsody. I smile. That song always cheers me up. Soon Kevin and I join in. We are all going crazy and not breathing, trying to do everyone's parts. Listening to Avi attempt Scott's solos is absolutely hilarious. I guess it's the same for me too because we all end up laughing as we finish the song. As much as I love music, I don't think it will be enough to get me through this. We start Imagine. We take breaks in between to eat. Since we have gone down there people, we have actually a good bit of food. We each have a bag of chips, a piece of bread, and a granola bar. This makes us full. Full for us normally, no. Normally we can clear out a whole buffet in under an hour. But for right now, we are stuffed. I guess our stomachs have shrunk. I go outside and look at my stomach. I can count every rib. I walk in to find the boys doing the same, with the same results of me. We are extremely skinny. We start laughing. We then remember that we were singing and finish the song. It's not the same without Scott and Mitch, but it's still pretty. We fall asleep on the couches that we pushed together to make a bed type thing. We hug each other as we sleep, afraid of losing each other.
