Still Avi POV
I come back to reality. Ugh, I can't seem to open my eyes. I can feel the warmth of light beaming on me. I hear muffled voices talking. I try to move, but the pain in my body doesn't let me.
"W-where...is K-kirstie?" I manage to force out the words, but they come out as a whisper.
"He's awake!" I hear one of them yell.
"Get the paramedic!" I can hear someone running over to my side.
"Can you open your eyes for me?" She sounds young. I try to open them. I try and try and try.
"Common, I know you can." I try, and finally my eyes open. It's the middle of the day, all around me is rubble covered in dust, puddles are everywhere.
"Where's Kirstie?" I expect for them to know immediately, I expected that they had already picked her up and she was waiting for me. At least, that's what I hoped. Instead, they exchanged confused glances.
"Who's Kirstie? Was she here too? Can you explain?"
"Her name is Kirstie Maldonado. She is 5"4, and has blonde hair. She is my best friend. We were together before we blacked out. Lightning struck the water and she blacked out moments before I did. I need you to find her." I had tears in my eyes. If I lost Kirstie... I shuddered. I need Kirstie. In all we've been through, we've had eachother. I could not go I'm living without her.
"We'll try our best to find your friend. She can't be too far."
"No I'm going to go look for her now." I sat up, getting ready to go and look for Kirstie, no matter the pain I was in.
"Sir, you need medical attention. Now what is your name?"
"Avriel Kaplan, now let me go find her." I attempted to stand, only to fall back on the ground once more.
"Ow..." I groaned. Two men came to me carrying a stretcher that they had gotten from a helicopter not that far away. They lifted me up, put me on the stretcher, and carries me to the helicopter. They shut the door and put the headphone thingies they use to communicate on me. I heard that the weather was on.
Scientists are still trying to explain how the storm miraculously disappeared and how the giant tsunamis formed. Rescue teams are moving in large numbers to South Florida to help whoever was unfortunate enough to be trapped there and not escape, but lucky enough to live. So far, only 15 people have been found. Their names to thoes who are waiting for them: John Kennedy, Alyssa Raimond, Johnathon Quaker, Luke Smith, Samson Popple, Cree Johnson, Samantha Johnson, Reece Johnson, Aidan Johnson, Bethanny Harvey, Alex Harvey, Gorja Harvey, Thomas Drake, Sally Daniel, and Avi Kaplan. Many more are expected to be found in the coming days.
I sat up, putting my head in my hands.
"Kirstie..." I cried.
"Sir, please lay down." I did as I was told, and prayed that Kirstie was safe.Kevin POV
I arrived at a storm shelter a few hours ago. I've been in here for what seems like FOREVER. I found a phone and called my family, telling them that I was okay. I hope the others are.
"The storm is over. You are all safe to leave." Gloria Hallelujah. I'm free. I walk out of the building, and find that there is a plane outside. It can fit all of us. I hop on the plane and find a seat.
"Hello everyone. I'm glad to see that you are all okay. This plane is going to Atlanta, GA. It is the biggest and closest city that is safe. You can make calls and transfers there." I fasten my seatbelt and lay my head back on the seat. I was so tired after all this. As soon as the plane was in the air, I fell asleep.Scott POV (go back to when Mitch and Scott left in the car)
The car started and we took off. I looked behind me to hear the others screaming to floor it. We did and just missed a falling chunk of a building.
"Scott... It hurts." Mitch looked at me, his eyes pleading for me to relieve his pain. A single tear ran down my cheek.
"We'll fix you up, Mitchy. Don't worry." We remain in the car for several hours untill we reach the nearest safe hospital. I step out of the car and carry Mitch in. They immediately take him off to surgery. His legs are crushed, it makes sense. I sit in the waiting room, anxiously awaiting news on Mitch. I don't know what I'd do if I lost him. The other people that were in the car with us decided to leave, to get to an airport. I said it was fine. We would be here for awhile.
Hours later...
"Family and friends of Mitchell Grassi?" I stood up, walking towards the nurse.
"How is Mitch?" I asked. I still had tears in my eyes, and the nurse looked at me with sympathy.
"The surgery was a success. We managed to rebuild his legs as good as possible. He will walk again, but one of his legs will always be a little weird when he walks. He will need a lot of physical therapy in about 3 months. He will wear his casts and braces for 7 months. He needs to get walking as soon as possible so his legs rebuild properly." Poor Mitchy.
"Can I go see him?"
"Yes. Follow me." I followed the nurse down the hallway. In the doors of other rooms I saw patients who had broken arms, concussions, twisted ankles, all the normal stuff. I hope Mitch is okay. 417, 418, 419, 420! Mitch is in room 420. I stand outside the door.
"I believe that you have it from here." The nurse walks away. I look at the doorknob. My hand trembles as I slowly turn the doorknob. I don't know how I will handle seeing Mitch like this. I step into the room and freeze. I let out a gasp.
"Hey Scott..."Haha I give you the curse of filler chapters!!!
