Avi POV
I awoke to the sound of an ear-shattering scream. I immediately went to wake up Kevin. My back was stiff from sitting all day, better get used to that. I shook Kevin awake.
"What...why would you do this to me?" He asked sleepily, referring as to why he was woken up.
"I heard someone scream." I said, deadly serious. He looked at me with a sarcastic glare.
"Was it perhaps a dream?" He asked with a little too much sarcasm, he was going over the top. All of a sudden, another scream identical to the one before was heard.
"Was it perhaps a dream?" I mocked. He looked at me with sarcastic hate in his eyes.
"No time for dilly-dally, Avi." Kevin said as he got up from his chair. We peeked around the corner of the room. We then pretended to be regular bystanders as we went across the hallway. We peeked out of the corner and sped to the next hallway. We continued this for a while until we got to the front of the hospital. My wheelchair squeaked halfway to the front and I felt like my heart was literally being electrocuted. When that happened, Kevin and I just gave each other a look that read "oh god".
Standing at the front desk was a man that was obviously not supposed to be there.
Under his arm was the limp body of the greeter.
"Nope." I said as I threw my hands up in the air, turning my chair around to roll away to safety. Kevin stopped me easily. He looked like he was about to go beat up that guy when he grabbed my chair and took off running at the speed of light. Goodness we're such cowards.
We made it to the surveillance room, where a few policemen stayed. They were asleep, so we woke them up by roughly shaking their shoulders. They stared at us in confusion, until they looked at the security cameras. Their eyes grew wide as they stared at the sight before them.
"The hospital is on lockdown, I repeat, no one is to exit their rooms, all rooms must remain locked. The police are being contacted." One of the men said over the intercom, while the other dialed 911. Kevin and I dashed to Kirstie's room and locked the door behind us. She was still asleep, thankfully. She didn't need the stress of this situation to think about.
Kevin moved Kirstie into a wheelchair- a nurse must have knocked her out cold. We all proceeded to hide in a closet, and wait until the threat is gone.
