Austin's P.O.V.

"Hi baby, I um...I know we've been going through a lot lately and I'm sorry. But I wanted to see you tonight and take you out to do something. Anything you want. Call me back when you hear this, I love you beautiful."
I hung up the phone and took a seat on my fluffy couch, sinking back into the cushions. Grabbing the ends of my hair, I sighed out a groan of frustration mostly at myself.
I laid back on the couch crossing my feet, supporting my neck with my arm, and resting the other across my stomach. Looking up at the ceiling, I got lost in my thoughts.
'Gosh, I love her. She's amazing, beautiful, smart, talented. Man, I could go on forever. She's one in a million- and I can't let that go.'
I ended up falling asleep to the soft snores of my dog and the chirping of the crickets as the sun set to be a beautiful coral-orange.

"AUSTIN! GET UP, NOW! WE NEED TO GO, AUSTIN! LETS GO." My peaceful sleep was disturbed by the shaking of my best friend, Alex. You know when you first wake and then everything hits you like a truck? Yeah that's how I felt. Rushing to get up, I questioned them as I searched for my phone and slipped on shoes and they dragged me out of my house.
"What's happening? Where's Y/N? Is she okay? Is she in this?" My heart raced as I strapped in my seatbelt and Alex took off. Robert and Zach sat in the back seat and informed me, quite frantically, about what's happening.
"Y/N's house-fire-bad." Sweat beads rolled down Roberts face as those words came out of his mouth.
"WHAT DO YO- oh my gosh." My heart dropped and my eyes widened. We pulled up to her house and I couldn't believe what I was seeing.

Red, orange, yellow traced with blue accents. My vision blurred and my ears popped. Screaming, running- fire.
"Oh Y/N." I ran as fast as I could to what seemed to be the remains of the front door. Just as I was about to enter, an arm pulled me back. I didn't even need to look in order to know that it was Zach.
"PLEASE LET ME GO, Y/N IS IN THERE!" I kept fighting and fighting but his grip got stronger. Tears drowned my face and it felt like everything was in slow motion.
Fire men ran in and out of the house grabbing Y/N's family members. I watched as all of them went by....except for her.
"LET GO!! Y/N!" I grabbed at the air and wanted to just get her and save her and make sure she's alright. Wriggling my arms out of Zach's grip, I ran towards the house once more. I was stopped again- this time, by the final explosion of the house.

      "NO! Y/N! PLEASE NO! Y/n

"NO! Y/N! PLEASE NO! Y/n....please...no." I fell to my knees and sobbed. Everything in my head was silent. I couldn't hear anything. Slow motion- people running, crying, screaming. This couldn't be it.
The firemen gazed at the ruins and looked at the rubble with disbelief. No, this isn't over. I ran, ran as fast as I could towards the house, not caring if I was burned or cut, bruised or blinded by smoke. I need to find her.
"Help...help..." A soft voice called from a corner in the living room. I immediately ran towards the sound and started furiously and anxiously digging through the fallen wood and broken glass.
"Y/N?? CALL OUT TO ME PLEASE, SO I CAN FIND YOU." My tears were boiled by the hot air and my hands cut and bloodied by the ruins.
      *cough cough*
"Y/N!!!" I saw a limp arm hanging out from under a piece of wood. A shiny ring clung to the small fingers of the body- it's her. I dug and moved pieces out of the way. Finally, I saw her- no, them.
"A-Austin....get...S-So-Sophia out..p-please." Sophia, her little sister lay close to unconscious under Y/N's protective grip. Picking up the toddler, I reached for Y/N only to have her gently swat my hand away with whatever strength was in her.
"Get her out, fast. Please." She started to cry softly as she began to fall into a state of unconsciousness. I wasn't going to leave her here.
"No! Y/N, grab on my arm! I have Sophia in the other! Come on!" I gripped her wrist gently and started to run out of the house. Then, a tug on my hand. It felt like a deadweight. Y/N.
"Y/N!!! GET UP PLEASE. STAY WITH ME BABY, WAKE UP. WE'RE ALMOST THERE, COME ON BABY." I begged and begged, sobbing to the point where I could barely breathe.
"Austin...I love you..I f-forgive..you." Her head fell limp and that's when I knew my heart was done for. I shouted her name and tried to reach back to her but I knew the frame of the house was going to cave in.
      Sophia.
I looked at the small child in my arms, almost dead. Then I looked back at the love of my life- dead. Finally, I looked up at the frame, 5 seconds before all three of us cave in. I have to get Sophia out...and leave Y/N behind.
"Baby!! If you can hear me, I love you!! So much!!" And with that, I ran out of the broken house with my broken heart.
One, two, three, fast strides out of the doorway with my hand protecting Sophia's fragile head. And with that, the structure collapsed.

April 7th, a beautiful woman lost to the fires.
