Tyler was there. He was wearing white. All white.

"Thea," he breathed.

"Tyler?" I cried.

He ran to me and pulled me into his arms.

Unbelievable.

How was he alive?

"Thea—I love you," he whispered into my hair and stroked my back.

"I love you too, so much," I sniffled and wrapped my arms around him... so incredibly tight.

I missed him. The warmth of his body against mine. His strong arms circling me—making me feel safe.

"Why?" Tyler started to cry.

"Why what?" I pulled back to look into his eyes.

I held his face and stroked his cheeks. He looked exactly as I remembered, but even better.

"Why'd you hurt yourself? Your family?" He was sobbing now.

"Wha—" I started.

"You killed yourself, Thea." Tears were streaming from his red eyes, down his face.

"I'm dead?" I stopped breathing.

"Almost," he breathed.

"That means I can be with you, right?" I tried to smile.

"Of course it does, but—"

"That's all I want." I smiled and kissed him.

"But that's not what I want for you," Tyler pulled back and grabbed my shoulder. "I want you to have a life, Thea."

"We can have a life here, Tyler," I tried to reason with him. My eyes started to sting.

"It's not that simple." He was crying again. "I want you to graduate high school, get married, have kids, have a life."

"I don't to do that with anyone but you," I whispered. Tears were streaming down my face now.

He met my eyes and kissed me.

"I know, but we can't. That's not how it works here," he said and pulled back so he could hold my hands in his.

My smile fell.

"I don't want to be with anyone... but you," I said. "I love you, and I will never stop loving you."

"I know", he combed his finger through his hair with one hand and held fast to mine with the other. "But I don't want you to make the same mistake I did—to give up." Tears streamed down his face. "Please don't give up."

"I won't."
