White surrounded us.

Everything was white.

Blindingly white.

Tyler and I laid side by side, wrapped around each other, Tyler humming a tune I had never heard before.

The most mind boggling thing however, was the emptiness and pureness the was all around Tyler and me.

"How much time do I have left with you?" I whispered, running my fingers through his fluffy brown hair.

"As much as you want." Tyler grabbed my hand and held it to his mouth. "You can stay, or you can go–it's your call," he whispered against my skin.

"I want to stay here—with you, Tyler," I whispered back.

The perfect, white stillness seemed to flutter.

"I know," he sighed. "I know..."

Tyler sat up and placed his face in his hands, hiding his seemingly perfect, unblemished self.

He mumbled something, but I couldn't make out what. He pulled his hands down his face and placed them behind his head. "The longer you stay, the less faith you're family has of you coming back. You're family is starting to think you're actually gone."

My face dropped, "But I'm not gone, right?"

Tyler's eyes lowered and he grasped my hands.

"You're so... close, Thea. You're so close to losing everything. Please. Please, don't lose." He was crying now.

"But I can't lose you again, Tyler," I was crying, too.

Tyler looked me in the eyes, tears streaming down his face, and shook his head. "You'll never, never lose me. I'll always be with you. Just call for me, and I'll be there."
