Raven POV

As I look outside I see birds flying freely, parents with their newborn taking a stroll, children playing happily; all they see, is an unhappy employee trapped 18 hours out of her daily life. "You really need to stop daydreaming, it's not a good look." I hear together with a loud smack on the table I'm sitting at. I flinch, the tea in my cup almost spilling over the edge. I look up and blink twice before I'm completely back and realise there's been an angry Sharon Needles staring at me for who knows how long. "I'm sorry, I just go-" I get cut off by Sharon loudly putting one of her hands down on the table. "Apologies are for in your free time. I want these files sorted by the end of today. I expect more from you from now on." She says and rolls her eyes before walking away from me. I follow her with my eyes and mock her, repeating the sentence she just said but in a very childish voice. "If you get caught you're going to have a real problem, you realise that.. right?" I hear and I look back at the table to see that Courtney and Willam have joined me. "I know. But she can't treat people the way she does." I ask and they just chuckle. "You'll get used to it. This is your...." Willam starts. "Second week." I finish and take a sip of my tea. "Oh yeah, you'll get used to it." She says, winking at me. I sigh.

I walk through the hallways of the St. Visage hospital and I can't help but wonder how all these girls ended up here. Sharon is not a fun boss to work for, unless you actually like being treated like the dirt under her heels. I get behind the counter and start ordering the files like Ms. Needles told me to. After about 20 minutes of stuffing documents into a closet in alphabetic order I decide to read some of the files. They seem to be documents of old patients that got sent home already, why did these never get ordered? Just as I want to open up another one a hand comes down and holds the document closed. "Let's not." I follow the arm that's connected to the hand just to be greeted by the very fake smile of Violet. "I think Ms. Needles was pretty clear about what you had to do, wasn't she?" She asks me and I just smile. "Sure thing. I think I was pretty clear about the whole personal space thing, wasn't I?" I ask her and she slowly pulls her arm back, looking at me like I just threatened to push her off a cliff. Trust me, I would. Violet is Needles her personal assistant and she takes that role to the next level. She might even be more of a hassle to work with than the boss herself. I continue putting the documents in the cabinets they belong, if I get this task done quickly she won't have anything to complain about.

The patients in this hospital are mostly children and old people. We hardly get any teens, which was my specialty at my previous job. Just as I almost doze off into another daydream I hear a thud, snapping me out of my thoughts. "You look like you can use this." Courtney says as she hands me a cup of coffee and a packet of sugar. "Thanks. I did really need it." I reply as I take off the lid and pour the sugar in. "How're you holding up?" She asks me, leaning on the counter. "Barely. It's tough here, the vibe here is kinda dull and no one really speaks to each other. Well, except for you and Willam to me." I reply, stirring my coffee. "You should come with me and Willam tonight, we're going to grab a drink after work. Your schedule is the same as ours right?" She asks me to which I nod. "Neat! We'll wait for you at the front door!" She says as she hurries away.

I sigh as I think about it. A happy sigh, though. I honestly thought Courtney and Willam only talked to me out of pity. These two weeks I've been here I've been pretty much on my own. I finally get up since it's time to walk my daily route. I walk past all the rooms of the patients I'm a nurse for and see if they need anything, if they're doing okay, etc. I especially like visiting Laila, a little girl that's just so cheerful and happy and the last on my list. "Nurse Raven!!" She excitedly yells as I walk into her room. "Good afternoon little miss McQueen, how are we feeling today?" I ask her with a smile as I sit on the edge of her bed. She always tells me about her day and we usually play some games. "What's that above your bed?" I ask as I point at a little folded pink piece of paper. As soon as I ask it she starts blushing and giggling like crazy, pulling it off the wall and handing it to me. I unfold it and read what's written on it. "Is this a love letter? From the guy you told me about?" I ask her with a big smile and she nervously laughs. "When my mom was here last week we wrote one for him together and today she gave me this!" She says to me. I hand it back to her and she hangs it back above her bed. "Sounds like it could really work out between you two," I wink at her. "and you know it, press the button if you need anything." I say as I walk backwards towards the door to which she gives me a thumbs up. I turn around and walk back towards my station.

Once the clock finally hits 8pm I walk back to the employee's lounge and take off my work clothes in one of the dressing rooms. I do my hair up, grab my jacket and bag and walk towards the entrance. All the colleagues I see on my way there I greet goodbye and to my surprise I get quite some replies. "God, you take forever." Willam says with a chuckle.

A/N
Yes I'm back!!! I've had this idea for a while and I'm glad to finally be working on it. I hope it becomes just as big of a success as Wake Up Call! I don't really know how often I will update because I'm very busy with school at the moment, but I'll do my best! (Also no T no shade to any of the queens, I love those idiots)
