"So, tell me something about our colleagues, it's not like I'm going to get information on my own." I say with a chuckle as I sit down in the booth opposite of them. "Well the most important thing you need to know is that everyone hooked up with probably everyone at some point." Willam bluntly states and Courtney playfully hits her arm. "That's not true, but there are two couples. Me and Willam and Katya and Alaska, have you worked with them already?" Courtney asks me. "Were they the two blondes who were all over eachother?" I ask and we all laugh. "Most likely, yeah!" Courtney replies. "You've met Violet already, right?" She asks me and I roll my eyes. "I'll take that as a yes," she chuckles. "Fame, no one knows her real name, and Pearl are probably the most kind but they hardly work during our shift." She says. "And last but not least there's Trixie, a real life Barbie doll who's specialised in kids. But I've heard she has the hots for Katya." Willam adds and I nod while sipping my drink.

"Sounds like a really wide range of girls from what I'm hearing." I say to them. "Just give them some time. We all started at the same time basically, we got transfered from different hospitals when this one opened. It's just that you're new, they'll accept you. I accepted you and I'm a tough nut to crack!" Willam says and I just laugh. I really shouldn't have expected much from just 2 weeks of working there. "I know," I sigh as I stir my drink with my straw. "it's just because of that mistake I made in my first week, because no one told me anything, the boss already looks down on me." I say and I see Courtney giggling. "No, darling. She's just very mean in general. Don't take it too personal and please try to ignore Violet as well." She says. I laugh, nervously.

After paying and dragging Willam into a cab together with Courtney I give her a hug, watch her get in as well and drive away. I walk back to my own car, we drove here with mine. I get in and stick the key in, turning it and starting the car. I drive away from the lot and with a decent speed I drive towards my tiny, but cosy appartment. It doesn't take me long before getting there and parking my car in the garage. As I walk towards the elevator I whistle, fiddling with my keys. The elevator ride is slow. It takes at least 3 minutes to get to the 3rd floor, where I live. As I swing the door to my appartement open I drop all my stuff in the hallway, kick off my shoes and jacket and shuffle to the bedroom. I let myself fall down onto the bed after taking off my clothes and stare up at the ceiling. "It's just that you're new, they'll accept you." Is circling through my mind. I should give my colleagues a chance, Courtney and Willam seem to genuinly like me. I roll over onto my side, close my eyes and before I know it I doze off to sleep.

--

I get woken up by my phone ringing, I frown with my eyes still closed and flail my arm next to me to try and shut it off. Instead, I just fling it off my nightstand. I groan before I decide to keep laying in bed. The ringing stops but I don't get a chance to feel relieved because it started ringing again within a minute. Angrily pulling my blanket off me I step out of the bed and walk towards my phone and pick up. "Yes?" I say, rubbing the back of my neck. "You're late. Again." I hear on the other end and with godspeed I turn around to look at the time. "I expect you here at ten. One minute later and you're out." I hear Sharon say before she hangs up. "For fuck sake.." I mumble to myself as I grab a clean set of clothes and hurry to the bathroom. After I showered, got dressed and did my makeup I'm ready to head out. I don't think I've ever ran this fast for something, except for a free taco. I get more nervous the closer I get to work. I don't know why I even work there, it's not even that good of a hospital.

I lock my car and hurry inside, 2 minutes before 10. I run past everyone, even the colleagues that do greet me normally. In the lounge I can finally catch my breath. I grab a glass of water, I was here on time -sort of- so technically she has nothing to complain about. "Morning!" A high voice suddenly yells at me which makes me flinch, causing me to drop the glass which breaks into a thousand tiny pieces. "Oh wow, I'm really sorry! Here, let me help you honey." She says and I turn around to see who it is. Standing in front of me is, as Willam described it, a real life-sized barbie doll, smiling widely. "It's okay, really, it was an accident." I say with a faint smile. She holds out her hand and I grab it to shake it. "Beatrice Mattel, but everyone here calls me Trixie so I guess you can too." She says to me. "Raven." I simply reply. She doesn't seem to ever take that smile off her face. "Well, Raven, welcome to the team!" She says and I just nod as I turn to the glass, crouching to pick the big pieces up. "Late AND destroying our glasses?" I can hear Violet who just walked into the lounge. "They're hers too, Chachki. I assume we won't start about everything that you destroyed." Trixie says to her. I can hear Violet scoff before walking away which makes me crack a slight chuckle. I stand up straight again once its all cleaned up. "Thanks." I say to her. "No worries. Has anyone shown you the whole building yet?" She asks me and I simply shake my head. "Oh honey get dressed, we're going to have a great shift today!" Is the last thing I hear her say to me before walking out of the lounge.
