It's been a while I wrote. So please, I might be confusing tenses or this chapter might seem abstract but I bet you it's nice.

Enjoy!

I had driven down here like a madman, the tension in my body was building more and more as I got closer. If I realise that this was just a scheme to make me get down here, I swear I wouldn't take it likely with her at all.

"Musa!" I called the compound gateman the moment I came down from my car.

"Oga!" he called back with his thick Hausa accent.

"Is Ada inside?" I asked him to be sure.

"Ah! Madam dey inside since..." he said snapping his fingers to emphasize on the since.... "Madam Don come back since 1'o'clock. She even promise me eba and ogbono soup when she cook finish. But I never see am, she never come outside since that time. Maybe she dey sleep Sha."

"So you mean Ada has not come outside her flat since she came in??"

"Ehn??" he asked looking confused.

"So you mean say your madam never come out from her house since she come back??"

"Ahh oga! No... Na I dey talk so na."

"Okay." I walked away from him to her flat door. The door was closed but wasn't locked.

I entered the house and started to call out her name.

"Ada! Ada!!" but no response.

An Idea came to my mind. I pulled out my phone and dialled her number Hoping to know where she was by following the sound of the ringtone.

I moved Further into the house

"Ada! Ada!!" I Called again, Then dialled the number again. I started to hear the ringtone as I walked through the passage of her house.

I followed the sound and walked into a room.

Her room I suppose.

The sound was coming from behind a door in the room. With all the courage I could Muster, I walked into the door.

I saw Ada, lying by her bath tub lifeless in her pool of blood.

Jesus!

What do I do? What do I do??

I asked my self repeatedly.

I took my phone and immediately texted Lanre and Juliet. Lanre, Juliet and Kemi are the only people I'm very closed to. But Kemi is not one of the persons to talk to in a matter like this, I had told Lanre everything from the beginning.

Still confused on what to do, if she was dead or alive, Lanre called back.

"Hello" I said with my voice shaking.

"Look bro, just calm down. Take a deep Breathe in and out." he said.

Although what he said was difficult to do, I tried to do it.

I was lost for words. I just shook my head. I couldn't muster the courage to say anything. What if she is dead?? I'll have to go to jail for a crime I didn't commit. Could be life imprisonment, what would happen to my wife? My kids? My family? So many thoughts rushed through my mind.

"Check her pulse." he said calmly.

Without hesitation, I pulled up my sleeves and bent down to check her pulse.
